USED FAKE FACEBOOK PROFILES TO MAKE FRIENDSHIP WITH GIRLS DELHI ARRESTED

  • CREATED MANY OF FAKE FACEBOOK PROFILES/PAGES AND BLACKMAILED GIRLS ON THE PRETEXT OF DEFAMING THEM.

The Cyber Cell/North West District has apprehended one Akhilesh S/o Rameshwar, R/o H-246, JJ Colony, Bakkarwala, Delhi permanent resident of VPO Gudha, PS Miona, District Bhind, Madhya Pradesh, age 24 years, who used to create fake Facebook I.D. in the name of girls for making friendship with them and later threatened to defame them by creating their facebook page with derogatory and obscene remarks and thus worked out a case U/s 354(D)/509/506 IPC & 12 POCSO Act of PS Maurya Enclave, Delhi.

INCIDENT
A complaint was received at PS Maurya Enclave wherein the complainant alleged that her minor daughter is being harassed and blackmailed through facebook messenger by an unknown person who also created a fake facebook page of her daughter’s name mobile number and photograph have been posted on the facebook with obscene title.
INVESTIGATION AND INTERROGATION
Immediately a team consisting of SI Vikas, HC Manoj, Ct. Sanjeet & Ct. Dheeraj of Cyber Cell North West District and staff of North West District was formed to work out the case under the close supervision of Insp. Ramesh Dahiya, I/C District Cyber Cell/NWD. The team worked hard and through technical assistance & surveillance, one Akhilesh S/o Rameshwar, R/o H-246, JJ Colony, Bakkarwala, Delhi was zeroed down and was apprehended on 22/08/2016. On his sustained interrogation he broke down and confessed to have indulged in such activities for the last 1½ year and created fake facebook profiles/pages of many girls and has also harassed few of them. A mobile phone containing contact numbers of around 100 girls has been recovered. He used different E-mail I.D. & SIM’s for creating fake facebook profiles/pages of victim girls.
The mobile phone, so recovered is being sent to FSL to extract information on the deleted data.
MODUS OPERANDI:
Accused Akhilesh used to create his fake facebook profile posing as a girl.  He would send random friend requests through his fake facebook profiles to other girls posing as common friend.  He used to create his fake facebook profiles with name and pictures drawn from any girl’s facebook.  Once friendship request is accepted, initially he would send friendly messages and seek personal details like mobile nos., profiles, etc.  He would also try to meet the girls and also met few as claimed by him, after disclosing his identity.  In case, if the meeting does not take place or friendship request is not accepted he would create another fake facebook profile/page of girl and post girl’s (whose facebook profile created) picture and mobile number with obscene comments/title so as to defame and malign her image.  Later, he would also blackmail/threaten them on the pretext of putting the girl’s fake facebook profile on school facebook page or circulate in her friend circle/locality.  He had even demanded money in some cases.  He had created few fake facebook profiles by the name of ‘Saloni xxx’, ‘Ridhim.xxx’, ‘Badshah King’, etc.  The SIM cards used to call the girls/complainant are also not in his name.

PROFILE:

Akhilesh (24 years) S/o Rameshwar, R/o H-246, JJ Colony, Bakkarwala, Delhi, Permanent address VPO Gudha, PS Miona, District Bhind, Madhya Pradesh. He had come to Delhi in his childhood with his uncle Gaya Prasad. He is 10th fail and married. He used his uncle’s name Gaya Prasad as his father in his school records & driving licence. Earlier, he has worked as a helper in an Export company in Wazirpur Industrial Area and now he is working as a driver for the last 1.5 years.

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp.
