ONE DRUG TRAFFICKER ARRESTED

  • 170 GM OF FINE QUALITY HEROIN SEIZED.
  • VALUE OF HEROIN IN INTERNATIONAL MARKET IS APPROXIMATELY RS.15 LAC.
Crime Branch has apprehended one drug trafficker Pappu @ Babu Khan (49 yrs) s/o Late Mohd. Jameel r/o Gali No.9, D- Block, Rajeev Vihar, Sriram, Colony, Khajuri Khas, Delhi. 170 gm of fine quality heroin was recovered from his possession. The recovered heroin is worth Rs.15 lac (approximately) in the international market.  
Information was received on 01.08.2016 by SI Rajnikant that one person Mohd. Pappu @ Babu Khan, who is resident of Khajuri Khas, Delhi, is indulged in sale & supply of heroin in bulk & retail. The Information further entailed that Mohd. Pappu @ Babu Khan would be coming near J&K Pocket Bus Stand, Seemapuri, Delhi to deliver a huge consignment of heroin to someone, between 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Accordingly, a team of officers led by ACP Ranbir Singh and consisting of Insp. Devender Kumar, SI Rajnikant, HCs Ismail, Vikas, Cts Birbal and Shani was constituted under the supervision of DCP Rajan Bhagat and overall supervision of Addl.CP K.K. Vyas and a trap was laid near J&K Pocket Bus Stand, Seemapuri, Delhi and Pappu @ Babu Khan was apprehended. 170 gm fine quality heroin was recovered from his possession. A case vide FIR No.135/16 dated 01/08/16 u/s 21 NDPS Act was registered at PS Crime Branch.
During sustained interrogation, he revealed that he is a permanent resident of Bareli, UP and is an illiterate. In 2000, he came in Delhi and started working with Jal Board as a labourer. In 2005, he purchased a truck on instalment but after some time he sold it out. A few years ago, he came in contact with one Naeem and started driving Naeem’s Tata Safari. Accused started consuming heroin. Later on, he came in contact with Satpal Maurya from Bareilly, UP, who was involved in supply of heroin. Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp.
