A high profile cheat previously involved in cheating of crores of rupees arrested

• Accused used to cheat people on the pretext of providing diplomatic cars on cheap rates.
• Cheated cash Rs. 1.23 lakh recovered.

   The police team of PS Vasant Kunj (North), South District have  arrested one cheat namely Sanjeev Bhel, age 62 years s/o Rajnath Bhel r/o H. No. P5/3, DLF Phase-II, Gurgaon, Haryana and recovered cheated cash Rs. 1.23 lakh.

  

Brief facts : The complainant Mr. Nitin Berry r/o Dehradoon, Uttrakhand lodged a complaint at PS Vasant Kunj North alleging therein that he came in contact with one Sanjeev Bhel s/o Rajnath Bhel, having office at B-843/1, Mahipalpur, New Delhi who represented himself as the sole exporter of Diplomatic Cars from the embassies and from Auto Expo.  Sanjeev Bhel told the complainant and his three other friends that he has good contacts in German Embassy and got new cars on 20/30% discount. He further told the complainant that he has also a Diplomatic Car Pool.  The complainant and his three friends believed on his lucrative offer as they had to buy new cars.  Sanjeev Bhel promised to provide one BMW and one Honda City car to the complainant and two XUV 500 cars, one Ford Ecco Sports Car, one Skoda Octavia and one I-20 car to the friends of the complainant.  After his lucrative offers, Sanjeev Bhel called the complainant and his friends at his office at Mahipalpur and received token money of Rs. one lakh and Rs. 24.60 lakhs through RTGS in his different bank accounts in the year 2014 and 2015. After receipt of the said amount, Sanjeev Bhel mailed the complainant and his friends regarding confirmation of the booking of cars and demanded more money but despite lapse of considerable time he did not provide any car to the complainant and his friends.  After this, the complainant and his friends demanded their money back and Sanjeev Bhel issued post dated cheques to them which were bounced.  He also started ignoring the phone calls of the complainant.  In this regard, a case FIR No. 64/16 dated 21/08/16 u/s 420 IPC was registered at PS Vasant Kunj North and investigation taken up.

Investigation : During investigation, a police team comprising SI Neeraj Kumar, Ct. Vikas and Ct. Karamveer led by Inspr. Virender Sejwan, SHO/V.K. North under the supervision of Sh. K.P. Kukrety, ACP/Vasant Vihar was formed to arrest the accused.  During investigation, the police team obtained and verified the bank details of accused Sanjeev Bhel.

Raids were conducted and close watch kept at the office of accused Sanjeev Bhel in Mahipalpur but he did not turn up. On 26/08/16 after getting specific input about the presence of accused Sanjeev Bhel in his office, the police team conducted raid at his office.  Accused Sanjeev Bhel came outside his office in his car and on seeing the police team, he accelerated the speed of his car and escaped from the spot.  The police team chased his car on the Mehrauli-Mahipalpur Road which later struck in traffic jam and accused Sanjeev Bhel was overpowered by the police team.
