INTER-STATE DRUG PEDDLERS ARRESTED, 3 KG OF FINE QUALITY OPIUM RECOVERED

• ONE INMATE OF CHITTORGARH JAIL IS CONTROLLING THE WHOLE RACKET.
• SOURCE OF THE RECOVERED DRUG HAS ALSO BEEN ARRESTED FROM NEEMACH, MP.

Crime Branch has arrested two inter-state drug peddlers namely Sonu Banjara (19 yrs) s/o Babu Lal r/o Village Bherpura, PS & Tehsil Manasa, Distt Neemach (MP) and Dinesh Chandel (35 yrs) s/o Bhagirath r/o H.No.5, Munna Bairagi Bypass Road Manaasa, Distt. Neemach (MP). 3 kg of fine quality Opium has been recovered from the possession of accused Sonu.

INFORMATION AND OPERATION: -

  An information was received by Inter State Cell, Crime Branch that one Sonu, who is supplying opium (afeem) in Delhi, Haryana and Punjab, would come near Singhu Border at Guru Teg Bahadur Memorial. On this information, a team led by ACP Sanjay Sehrawat, Insp. P C Yadav, SIs Sandeep Yadav, Manoj Kumar, HCs Suresh Kumar, Santraj, Kartar Singh, Kanwar Pal, Cts.  Om Parkash, Amar Pal, Vinod, Ravi Mishra & Sandeep was constituted under the supervision of DCP Bhisham Singh to nab him. On the basis of the information, a trap was laid at the given place and accused Sonu Banjara was apprehended and 3 kg fine quality opium was recovered from him.

INTERROGATION: -   

During interrogation, accused disclosed that he was supplying the contraband at the instance of one Mangi Lal r/o Mandsaur, MP. Presently, he is lodged in Chittorgarh Jail in similar case but he is controlling the racket inside the jail itself. Accused informed that he acts as a carrier and supplies opium in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan at the instance of Mangi Lal. He further disclosed that he received the said contraband from one Dinesh Chandel r/o Manasa, Neemach, MP, a farmer. He was directed by Mangi Lal to collect the same from Dinesh Chandel and at the instance of Mangi Lal, he came to supply the same in Delhi.

Accused was taken on police custody remand and at his instance source of contraband namely Dinesh Chandel was also arrested from Neemach, MP.

PROFILE: -

1. Accused was born at Village Bherpura, PS & Tehsil Manaasa, Distt- Neemach (MP) 19 years back. His father is a small farmer. Accused studied upto 10th standard from a government school at his village. Thereafter, he left studies & began to work as a waiter in Neemach. However, he was not satisfied with his earnings and he came in contact of drug peddlers. He was arrested at Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, while he was indulging in supply of Doda-post. In the jail, he came in contact with Mangi Lal Rathor, who was already lodged in jail. Later, he was declared juvenile by the court and he was granted bail after one month. After coming out of jail, he began to work for Mangi Lal and started supplying drugs in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan.
2. Accused Dinesh Chandel is an illiterate person and is a farmer. He was working as a mason but he was not satisfied with the income, therefore, he came in contact with the suppliers of contraband. He began to grow opium in his field. He was first arrested in 2015 by GRP, Chittorgarh and was sent to jail where he met one Mangi Lal. Thereafter, he began to work for Mangi Lal.      

Accused Sonu Banjara and Dinesh Chandel have been arrested under relevant sections of NDPS Act. Efforts are being made to bring Mangi Lal to Delhi from Chittorgarh Jail.
