CCTV FOOTAGE UNRAVELLED THE FAKE KIDNAPPING OF THE CHILD OF 2 YEARS RECOVERED

The team of PS Swaroop Nagar has worked out a case of kidnapping of minor girl aged about 2 years in less than 48 hours.


On 26.08.2016 Smt. Parvati (name changed) residing in the area of Swaroop Nagar lodged a PCR call about the missing of her daughter Gauri (aprox-2 Yrs) (name changed) from the Friday Market, Swaroop Nagar, Delhi.  She suspected that some unknown person has kidnapped her daughter.  A case of kidnapping was registered at PS Swaroop Nagar on her statement and taken up for investigation by ASI Bijender Singh.  A dedicated team was immediately constituted on the direction of Sh. Prashant Gautam, IPS, ACP/Jahangir Puri consisting of Insp. Bharat Ram, SHO/Swaroop Nagar, ASI Bijender, Ct. Vinod and Ct. Ajmer.  Sensing the gravity of the matter, the team immediately swung into action.  Initially, as per the protocol, WT Message was flashed throughout India, Hue and Cry notice was pasted at prominent places in the vicinity, information was also sent to SCRB, NCRB, Doordarshan, CRO & CBI in this regard.  CCTV footage from all the available sources in the vicinity from where the girl child was reportedly kidnapped was also obtained and closely analysed.  The family did not provide any photograph of the missing child, however, the investigating team obtained a photograph of the child from the neighbours.  Massive search operation was launched by the police.  Police searched her everywhere near the market, in sewage drains, etc. for the minor girl during the night itself with the help of local residents.
During investigation, it also came to notice that there is a dispute between the father and mother of the missing girl.  During analysis of the CCTV footage, it was observed that the mother of the missing girl was alone while going to the market.  The fact that family did not provide any photograph and the revelation from the CCTV footage made the police team investigating the crime a bit suspicious about the correctness of the line of story provided by the mother of the missing girl.  
Next day the mother changed the story and told that two women kidnapped her daughter on knife point.  Now the suspicion about this fictitious story got confirmed but the mother was not ready to tell anything about the missing of the minor girl.  When the police persisted with their line of questioning, the family found themselves getting trapped.  They tried to escape from this situation and changed the story one more time.  This time they projected a scenario wherein the relative of the girl took her to Mukrarba Chowk and left her there but with 5 min she was reportedly discovered by her relative who went looking for her.  Finally the persistent questioning broke down the family and they confessed to have plotted a case of fictitious kidnapping of the minor girl.  During the investigation, mother and her relatives admitted that it was their plan to project the kidnapping of the girl to take benefit in the Court litigation that are pending between the mother and father the girl child.  The girl was kept at Jahangirpuri in a relative house all this while.
The missing two year old girl has been made victim of personal dispute of a husband and wife.  The mother of the child in connivance with her relatives cooked up a fictitious story of kidnapping of their 2yr old girl child.  They first lodged a complaint against kidnapping in police station & told police that her daughter was kidnapped from weekly Friday market as the husband although not awarded the custody of the girl yet was pressurising his wife for the custody of their daughter.  Hence, the mother of the girl in connivance with her relatives fabricated a story of kidnapping of the girl whereas the girl was kept in the house of a relative in Jahangir Puri all this while.

The family residing in the Delhi, mostly hails from UP.  The mother of the girl works in a private job. As claimed by her, a litigation between her and her husband is pending and she planned this to take benefit in the court litigation.  The missing girl was recovered from her relatives by the staff of PS Swaroop Nagar on 28.08.2016.
