INFORMATION, TEAM AND INTERROGATION: -
During preliminary investigation, it was revealed that a well-organized gang was involved in these crimes and these criminals were active in Delhi NCR, Rajasthan and Haryana and other northern states of India. Sensing the gravity, a reward of Rs.50,000/- was declared by CP, Delhi on the arrest of these criminals.
A dedicated team of Inter State Cell, Crime Branch led by ACP Sanjay Sehrawat, consisting of Inspr. Sunil Kumar, SI Vijay Samaria, HC Niranjan Singh, Cts Gopal Krishan, Raj Kumar, Paramjeet Singh, Arvind Meena and Rahul under the supervision of DCP Bhisham Singh and overall supervision of Addl.CP K.K. Vyas was put to task to apprehend the criminals behind the crime.
On 17/08/2016, a specific information was received by SI Vijay Samaria and Ct Raj Kumar that one Trilok involved in above highway robberies would come at Dhaula Kuan bus stand, Delhi to meet his associates to whom he had sold the robbed/stolen articles. Acting on this information, a trap was laid and three persons, who were later identified as Trilok Singh, Anil and Ramji Lal, were apprehended and from their possession, 3 mobile phones used in the commission of crime were recovered.
INTERROGATION: -
On sustained interrogation, accused Trilok disclosed that earlier he was working as a truck driver but left the job due to low salary. Thereafter, he indulged in criminal activities and started highway truck robberies. This gang has a unique modus operandi. Trilok would carefully target a truck destined to other states like Haryana, Himachal and Rajasthan. He would take the lift from the truck driver expressing some urgency.  On the way, Trilok would gain the confidence of truck driver and would offer poisonous food/water to the truck driver. After consuming the same, the truck driver used to fall unconscious. Once the truck driver fell unconscious, Trilok would drive the loaded truck to Jaipur, Rajasthan with the help of Anil and Ramji Lal (receiver of the robbed articles) whereas, the truck drivers were thrown away in unconscious condition at some place in Delhi to deceive the investigating agency.
The goods in the truck were unloaded in the godown at Jaipur and the empty truck was left abandoned at distant location. Accused Anil and Ramji Lal after receiving the robbed/stolen articles would further sell the same to one Ramesh, whose godown is in Jaipur, Rajasthan.  On sufficient evidence, all the above three persons were arrested under appropriate sections of law. Information regarding their arrest has been given to the concerned police stations.
