DELHI POLICE CRACKS THE CASE OF KIDNAPPING FOR RANSOM

On 06/08/2016, a boy (aged 11 years) was kidnapped from a busy street in Narela at around7.45 pm.  The boy had gone there along with his mother to meet their relatives and while returning from the market on foot, he was abducted in a white Swift car. A case of kidnapping was registered at PS Narela and investigation was taken up. Initially, there was no clue about the kidnappers and for a considerable time no information or phone call or mobile call was received.  It appeared that someone known to the family had committed the crime.  However, the next day a ransom call was received by the father of the kidnapped child.  The kidnappers had initially demanded Rs. One crore in ransom but since the family was not in a position to pay such a hefty amount, after negotiations the kidnappers had brought down their demand considerably.  In view of the sensitivity of the case and imminent threat & danger to the life of the child, the investigation of the case was being monitored closely by senior officers.  Since the prime objective in the whole incident was to ensure the safe return of the child, no hasty steps were taken by the police.  On the intervening night of 10-11/08/16, the ransom amount was delivered at a location determined by the kidnappers.  Subsequently, after a few hours the child was set free.

After the safe return of the child, a number of teams headed by Inspr. Jarnail Singh(SHO/Narela), Inspr. Suresh Kumar (SHO/Alipur), Inspr. Mahavir Singh (Inspr/Special Staff) and Inspr. Jai Prakash were constituted under the leadership of ACP/Alipur Sh. Rajnish.   The child was examined in detail but all that he could tell was that he had been given an injection immediately after being kidnapped in the moving car itself and had remained in a semiconscious state throughout.  Extensive ground work was done and source intelligence was developed regarding suspicious movements in the nearby villages.  On the basis of specific input which was further developed, the team managed to get certain vital clues about the kidnappers which ultimately led to their arrests.  Simultaneous raids were conducted at a number of places in District Sonipat(HR) and the following persons have been arrested:-

The mastermind of the whole incident was Pawan @ Kala @ Langra who as of now is absconding.  He has taken inspiration from watching crime based TV serials such as Crime Patrol, Saavdhan India etc.  He had an experience of working as a compounder with a physician and had also worked in pharmacy store.  He was the one who had administered sedative drugs to the child to keep him in a state of stupor.
During the raids conducted approximately Rs.4.7 lakh in cash out of the ransom amount have been recovered at the instance of the accused persons.  Injections used to keep the child unconscious were also recovered from the possession of one of the accused.  Vehicles used in kidnapping and transportation of the child have also been recovered and are as under:-
