KINGPIN OF ‘NIZAM GANG’, ARRESTED.

Ø    REMAINED ABSCONDING SINCE HE WAS BAILED OUT.

Ø    P.O. PROCEEDINGS AGAINST HIM IS IN PROCESS.

INTRODUCTION: - 

Crime Branch has apprehended a notorious robber-cum-burglar, Nizam (36 yrs) s/o Nisar r/o H.No.622, Jahangirpuri, Delhi, who had disappeared after being bailed out from Rohini Court and did not turn up. Hence, P.O. proceedings were initiated against him by the Hon’ble Court. He is involved in more than 35 cases of burglary and robberies in the area of North-West & Outer District and had become a source of terror among the residents of these areas.

INFORMATION & TEAM: -

On 08.08.2016, a secret information was received by HC Anil that notorious robber/burglar, Nizam, who is wanted in several cases would be coming to Ramlila Ground, Jahangir Puri to meet his associates and planning to commit burglary. Accordingly, a team led by ACP Jitender Kumar comprising of Inspr. Ashok Kumar, SI Narender Kumar, HCs Anil, Kavinder, Dinesh, Cts Anil and Vinod was constituted under the supervision DCP Bhisham Singh and overall guidance of Addl.CP KK Vyas to nab him.

OPERATION & INTERROGATION: -

          A trap was laid at the expected place of his arrival and at the instance of the secret informer, the team zeroed down on Nizam s/o Nisar, who was eagerly waiting for someone.  After judging the presence and movement of the police party, Nizam tried to flee away, but was apprehended by HC Anil by showing exemplary courage and professionalism HC Anil quickly jumped and overpowered the accused with the help of other staff.   

During sustained interrogation, it has been revealed that accused Nizam was born in a slum-cluster of Jahangirpur, Delhi.  He is a primary school drop-out due to sheer poverty.  When it became too difficult to survive, Nizam started rag-picking in the local vicinity to carry out his livelihood.  However, financial crisis of his family did not get over and it became very hard for him to arrange bread and butter. Thereafter, he started committing thefts in the local area to survive.

In 2008, he formed a gang with the budding criminals of Jahangir Puri, Delhi, which was known as ‘NIZAM GANG’ of burglars and he became the kingpin of the gang.  Initially, this gang used to commit day-burglaries and targeted only the locked premises in the afternoon when the movement of people is the least.  But in 2010, he and his associates started committing robberies fearlessly. 

Accused Nizam has been found involved in 35 cases of robbery and burglary. This gang created panic in the minds of the local residents of these areas.  He was arrested in 2009, but succeeded to get bail from the Rohini Court. After his release, he never turned up for trial. Hence, PO proceedings u/s 82/83 Cr.P.C. has been initiated against him by the Ld. Court concerned.
