Notorious motor cycle lifter arrested after a brief encounter with police

  • 6 live cartridges, one stolen motor cycle, one mobile phone and master key to break the motor cycle locks recovered.
A police team of PS Saket, South District arrested one accused namely Akram, age 22 years s/o Khursheed r/o Village Gwaraka, P.S. Taudu, District Nuh, Haryana and recovered 6 live cartridges (.315 bore), one mobile phone (make Lava), one motor cycle (make Apache) and master key used to break the motor cycle locks.
Brief facts : On the morning of 25-08-16, a police team consisting of HC Avneesh and Ct. Surender Singh under the supervision of Inspr. Mahesh Soni, Inspr. (Inv.)/PS Saket were patrolling at old M.B. Road near Tyre Shop, Lado Sarai.  At about 4.45 AM, HC Avneesh and Ct. Surender noticed four motor cyclists on 3 motor cycles going on high speed and haphazard driving which seemed suspicious, as such, the police team signaled them to stop for checking but the first motorcyclist accelerated the speed and managed to flee away while the policemen stopped the second one riding on Apache motor cycle by putting his motor cycle before it.  Another associate riding on third bullet motor cycle said ‘Harun goli chala’.  On this, the person riding on the bullet motor cycle took out a Katta from his belt and fired at the police party who narrowly escaped.  Ct. Surender apprehended one person riding on Apache motor cycle.  He was identified as Akram, age 22 years s/o Khursheed r/o Village Gwaraka, P.S. Taudu, District Nuh, Haryana. On his search, six live cartridges, one master key and one mobile phone was recovered from his possession.  In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 564/16 dated 25.08.16 u/s 186/353/307/34 IPC & 25 Arms Act was registered at PS Saket and investigation taken up.

Interrogation :
During interrogation, it was revealed that motor cycle (make Apache) was stolen by these criminals from Malviya Nagar area and in this regard e-FIR No. 24903/16 u/s 379 IPC was registered at PS Malviya Nagar. Accused Akram disclosed names of his associates who managed to escape from the spot as Sahun @ Harun @ Kala, age 28 years s/o Subham Khan, Wasim, age 24/25 years s/o Jafru and Dilshad @ Sahil @ Anna, age 24/25 years s/o Saleem, all resident of Village Rithad, PS Nagina, District Mewat, Haryana.  Accused further disclosed that they used to leave from their native village in bus for South Delhi.  With the help of master key, they used to break the locks of motor cycles and steal them.  

The accused has been taken on 3 days police custody remand, further investigation is in progress to verify his other involvements and to arrest the remaining accused persons.

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp.
