Child aged 10 years and six months recovered

  • Child was kidnapped 10 years ago from government hospital.
  • Two accused persons-one male & a lady arrested.

An information was received that a minor child who was only one year and six months old was kidnapped from Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital in the year 2007, was seen in the area of PS Krishna Nagar. The complainant, Afsar r/o Jhuggi, Bhalsawa Dairy, PS Jehangirpuri  contacted SHO/PS Krishna Nagar and  informed  that his child was kidnapped in the year 2007 and had not been recovered yet. He further informed that the child was reportedly seen in the  area by someone. This information was developed and a search of the victim was made in the area of PS Krishna Nagar.  Teams were formed and local intelligence was developed. It came to the knowledge of the police staff that a couple  who was staying in Gali No. 1, Shanti Mohalla, Old Jehangirpuri had a 10 years old child with them. They were staying on rent  in the area and had recently vacated the house. On the receipt of this information, sources were deployed and a watch was also kept on the schools in the locality since it was presumed that the child might be studying in a primary school. A search  was made  in the school to find out the missing child. The father of the victim also joined  the search and initially a  child who  resembled the kidnapped child was traced to MCD School, Old Seelampur, PS Krishna Nagar.

Later on “Parents” of the child were located and interrogated. During interrogation they stated giving vague replies. Initially, they stated that the child was their biological child. However, enquiries made in the neighborhood revealed   that the child was brought suddenly a few years back.  The couple had  told the neighborhood  that the delivery of the woman had taken place earlier in their ancestral village and the child  had stayed with his grand parents since than. During sustained interrogation the coupled confessed that they are not the biological parents of the child. Further,  they  confessed that they had kidnapped the  child from Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital, PS Jehangirpuri during November, 2007. The accused namely Mohd. Samin s/o Mohd. Yamin and his wife Nargis r/o Kaushik Puri have been arrested and a case u/s 368 IPC has been registered at PS Krishna Nagar. Further, their  role regarding human trafficking angle and other involvements of the couple in child kidnappings are being looked into.

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp.
