Sagar @ Punter a sharp shooter of Naveen Khati Gang arrested

• Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered.

A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp. Sanjay Nagpal, Inspr. Prabhat Kumar & Insp. Pankaj Kumar under the supervision of Shri Pankaj Sood, ACP has arrested sharp shooter of notorious and desperate gangster Naveen @ Khati namely  Sagar @ Punter, alongwith his associate Ravi @ Cheeru. Two pistols alongwith 9 cartridges were recovered from their possession.  A Bullet Motor-Cycle used by gangster has also been seized. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest.

There is a long history of gang war in Najafgarh and adjoining areas. Naveen @ Khati gang is a desperate gang having rivalry with Manjeet Mahal/ Ravinder @ Bholu gang. They are splinter group of Anoop/Balraj gang which had rivalry with Krishan Pehlwan gang. After the demise of Balraj and Anoop, the gangsters fought amongst each other for supremacy and for the mantle of leadership of the gang. The gang members are involved in cases of extortion and land grabbing. This gang rivalry led to several murders/attempt to murders of relatives of gangsters and witnesses.

On 14.02.2017, specific information was received to Ct Sandeep that two members of Naveen Khati Gang would be coming to near Pipal Chowk, Sector- 13/14 Dwarka, Delhi to meet their assocaites. Accordingly, a team consisting of Inspr. Prabhat Kumar, ASI Krishan, ASI Rajender Huda, ASI Pawan, HC Deepak, Ct Sandeep, Ct Anil and Ct Akshay laid a trap near PipalChowk in Dwarka. At about 11:05 AM, a Bullet Motor-Cycle was spotted coming towards Pipal Chowk, Dwarka. The police team waylaid the Bullet with official vehicle and forced the miscreants to stop. The riders   seeing the police team took out their weapons and threatened the police team, they were overpowered by Ct Sandeep and Ct Anil,who snatched their pistols. They were identified as Sagar @ Punter, aged 26 years, s/o Shri Ranvir Singh r/o Village Pochanpur, PS Dwarka Sector-23, Delhi alongwith his associate Ravi @ Cheeru, aged 23 years, s/o Shri Mahabir Singh r/o Village Pochanpur, PS Dwarka Sector-23, Delhi. Two pistols of bore 7.62 and 7.65 respectively alongwith 9 cartridges were recovered from their possession.  A Bullet motor-cycle used by gangster has also been seized. The Bullet has been found stolen from the area of PS VikasPuri, Delhi. A case under appropriate sections of law has been registered.

Both the accused persons were subjected to sustained interrogation wherein they disclosed that they had come to hatch a plan to kill a rival gangster.  

Brief criminal profile of arrested accused persons :

1. Sagar @ Punter, aged 26 years, s/o Shri Ranvir Singh r/o Village Pochanpur, PS Dwarka Sector-23, Delhi

Sagar is a school dropout. He stepped in the world of crime in the year 2010. He is a desperate sharpshooter/member of Naveen Khati gang. He has previously been involved in four cases including murder, attempt to murders and hurt. During gang rivalry, Sagar along with his associates shot at and attempted to kill one Sunil r/o village Pochanpur, A case vide FIR No. 440/14 u/s 307/34 IPC r/w 25/27 Arms Act, has been registered at PS Sector-23 Dwarka, Delhi. After release on bail, Sagar along with his other associates fired indiscriminately and killed Rohtash r/o village Mitraon, Najafgarh, Delhi. A case vide FIR No. 144/15 u/s 302 IPC r/w 25/27 Arms Act,has been registered at PS Baba Haridas Nagar, Delhi. Rohtash was the father of another gangster Gopal @ Pale and uncle of Ravinder @ Bholu. In retaliation Gopal @ Pale killed 4 members of Naveen Khati Gang including brother of Naveen Khati. After some time members of Naveen @ Khati gang shot dead Janak Raj, the father of one another gangster Dinesh @ Mogli an associate of Ravinder @ Bholu. Dinesh @ Mogli was involved in murder of four members of their gang.  A case FIR No.47/16 dt. 14.3.16 u/s 302/307/452/34 IPC,has been registered PS Jaffarpur Kalan, Delhi.  

In the year 2016, Sagar was granted interim bail in the above mentioned cases but he jumped the bail. During this period, he along with other associates including Ravi @ Cheeru shot dead Balwan r/o village Dariyapur, Najafgarh, Delhi. Balwan is one of the main witness in the murder Janakraj in case FIR No. 186/16 dt. 27.9.16 u/s 307 IPC r/w 25/27 Arms Act, PS Jaffarpur Kalan, Delhi. Accused Sagar on run for about 5 months.

2. Ravi @ Cheenu, aged 23 years, s/o ShriMahabir Singh r/o Village Pochanpur, PS Dwarka Sector-23, Delhi

He is also a school dropout. He joined Naveen @ Khati gang recently. He is also wanted in the attempt to murder case of Balwan r/o village Dariyapur, Najafgarh, Delhi. He also fired  in the murder bid. He has been absconding since then.
