A GANG WHO CHEATED INNOCENT PEOPLE ON THE PRETEXT OF SELLING DOLLARS/RIALS ON CHEAP RATES BUSTED

  • 8 CASES SOLVED.
          With the arrest of three persons including a woman, the staff of P.S Jahangir Puri of North West District has busted a gang who cheated innocent people on the pretext of selling Dollors/Rials on cheap rates in the area of PS Jahangir Puri. They have been identified as 1. Sheikh Bacchu R/o Jahangir Puri, age 30 Years, 2. Tutal Haldar R/o Jahangir Puri, age 35 years and 3. Sultana (Name Changed)r/o Jahangir Puri, all are permanent residents of Shiyaldah, Mursidabad, West Bengal.  They have been found involved in 8 cases of cheating registered at Police Station Jahangir Puri.

During enquiry of a complaint regarding cheating of Dollors on the pretext of selling Dollors on cheap rates, Technical details were examined and zeroed down on the alleged persons. A team under supervision of Inspr. Mahavir Singh SHO Jahangir Puri consisting SI Naveen Kumar, PSI Johny,  PSI Anshu, W/ASI Sumedha, ASI Somdev ASI Ram Chander ASI Brijbhushan HC Gulshan Ct. Devender and Ct. Sachin Under over all supervision of ACP Jahangir Puri Sh. Utkrisht Prasoon (IPS) was accordingly constituted to trace out and arrest the involved persons.

Acting upon a tip of, the team arrested two accused persons namely Sheikh Bacchu and Tutal Haldar when they had come to cheat another person. Later on their accomplice one woman namely Sultana (Name Changed) was also arrested.

During sustained interrogation, they disclosed that they used to trap poor and semi-literate persons by showing them genuine Dollors/Rials. Woman member of the gang used to go in hospitals and on shops etc. and she talked to people saying she is Rag picker and found a lot of Dollar/Rial. She provided one dollar to her prey as a sample of bundle of Dollars. She remained in touch with that prey. The prey used to find the provided dollar as a genuine one. So, he became greedy to get all these dollars on cheap rate and he fell in the trap easily. While negotiating they would first received the cash from the victim and then hand over a packet containing rough papers covering with the polythene and told the prey not to open the covered bundle immediately. In the meanwhile, the accused disappeared in the streets when the prey opened the covered bundle and found himself deceived.

INTERROGATION:

         The accused persons admitted to have committed several crime of similar nature. They have confessed their involvement in cases of FIR No. 726/14 dated 04/09/2014 u/s 420/34 IPC, FIR No. 986/15 dated 01/11/2015 u/s 420/34 IPC, FIR No.1019/15 dated 10/11/2015 u/s 420/34 IPC, FIR No.36/16 dated 11/1/2016 u/s 420/34 IPC, FIR No.308/16 dated 21/05/2016 u/s 420/34 IPC, FIR No.446/16 dated 08/08/2016 u/s 420/34 IPC, FIR No. 595/16 dated 18/10/2016 u/s 420/34 IPC, and FIR No. 56/17 dated 08/02/2017 u/s 420/34 IPC, all were registered in P.S Jahangir Puri, Delhi.  

RECOVERY
At the time of their arrest Rs. 90,000/-, 07 Mobile Phones, 07 SIM and 06 Dollars ( Geniune) were recovered from their possession.
