ROBBERY CUM MURDER SOLVED : TWO JUVENILES APPREHENDED RED

HANDED : WEAPON OF OFFENCE (KNIFE) AND THE LOOTED BOOTY RECOVERED
With the apprehension of two juveniles the staff of Police Station Prasad Nagar, Central District has solved a case of robbery-cum-murder case that happened in Rajendra Place area on the night intervening 16/17.02.17 in which two juveniles had stabbed a 26 years old rickshaw puller in his abdomen and robbed him of cash Rs 185/-. The injured later succumbed to his injuries.
INCIDENT
On the night intervening 16/17.02.17 at about 12.30 AM, Ct. Mukesh and DHG Ct. Neeraj were on motorcycle patrolling in the area of PS Prasad Nagar in Rajendra Place area where they noticed some commotion near Punjab & Sind Bank. They immediately rushed to the place but by the time they could reach there, two persons were learnt to have stabbed a rickshaw puller and were seen fleeing away on foot. They were immediately chased by the patrolling staff on motorcycle and on seeing chasing by policemen, both the assailants left main road and entered Jheel Park. The Constables on patrolling also parked their motorcycle on road side and chased the assailants on foot. After painstaking efforts, they managed to locate the duo and apprehend them. A button actuated knife stained in blood was also recovered from their possession. The assailants also revealed that they had robbed the rickshaw puller of Rs. 185/- and stabbed him. Cash Rs. 185/- was also recovered from their possession. A case of robbery using deadly weapon was registered at PS Prasad Nagar vide FIR No. 43/17. The injured was shifted to LHMC Hospital in a PCR van where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment on 17.02.17 and accordingly, the section of law was amended.
INVESTIGATION
Subsequent to the apprehension of the assailants and registration of a case, it was learnt that both the assailants were minor. They were apprehended and the recovered weapon of offence and the robbed cash were seized. Both were subjected to medical examination and found positive for intake of alcohol. Both were sent to Observation Home. Further, strenuous efforts led to the identification of the injured as Bhanu Pratap aged 26 years s/o Drigpal r/o H. No. 140, Bisanpur Kalan, Gonda, UP.  
VERSION OF THE JUVENILES
While recording the version of the juveniles, they revealed that the duo had consumed beer at about 8.30 pm and had wanted to buy more beer but were short of money. One of them was carrying a knife which he had found sometime back. Both of them planned to rob money from some soft target at knifepoint. Meanwhile they noticed a rickshaw and hired the same for going to Rajendra Place. On the way near Punjab and Sind Bank, there was a small dark stretch and taking advantage of the same, both of them overpowered the rickshaw puller and asked him to part with the cash he was having. While the rickshaw puller retaliated, he was stabbed by them into the abdomen. Both of them fled away after robbing the cash and were apprehended by the alert motorcycle patrolling staff.
