NOTORIOUS CRIMINAL LALIT ARRESTED

  • WORKED OUT A CASE OF SHOOTOUT WITHIN 24 HRS (PS MALVIYA NAGAR, SOUTH DELHI).
  • PREVIOUSLY INVOLVED IN SEVERAL CASES OF THEFT, ROBBERY & DACOITY, INCLUDING A CASE OF ROBBERY OF SERVICE PISTOL FROM AN ARMED FORCE PERSONNEL.
Crime Branch has arrested a notorious criminal Lalit (20 yrs) s/o Rajesh r/o J.J.Colony, Madanpur Khadar, Delhi. He was previously involved in several cases of theft, robbery and dacoity in Delhi including a case of robbery of service pistol from an armed force personnel. The assailants were unknown to the victim and the case was a blind one.
INCIDENT: -
 On 30.01.2017, one Kuldeep Sehrawat r/o Chirag Delhi went to pick up his daughter from school bus near Chirag Delhi drain. When he was going back with his daughter, two young boys aged about 22-25 years came from behind and one of them fired at him with his weapon. He had a narrow escape and the bullet passed after injuring him near his neck. He wrangled with the said boy and managed to pin him down to the ground but both the boys managed escape from the spot. A case of attempt to murder and Arms Act was registered at PS Malviya Nagar vide FIR No.43/17, dated 30.01.2017, u/s 307/34 IPC r/w 25/27/54 Arms Act in this regard. Accused persons were absconding since the date of incident.
INFORMATION AND OPERATION: -
        The team of ISC, Crime Branch also visited the spot and deployed sources to develop the information about the assailants. The victim was clueless about the identity of the assailants. From the team’s consolidated efforts, an information was received on 31.01.2017 that one of the assailants was Lalit, who is a very desperate and also previously involved in robbery of pistol from an armed force personnel. It was further informed that he would come near Dear Park Corner, Harsukh Marg, Bhikaji Kama Road. On this information, a team led by ACP Sanjay Sehrawat, consisting of Insp. Neeraj Chaudhary, SI Kuldeep Singh ASIs Devender, Jai Parkash, Satish, HC Surender, Cts. Devender, Sonu and Naveen was constituted under the supervision of DCP Madhur Verma and overall guidance of Addl.CP KK Vyas to nab him. On the basis of the information, a trap was laid near the place of information and accused Lalit was apprehended after a brief scuffle.
INTERROGATION & PROFILE: -
Accused Lalit disclosed that he was born in 1996 in Dakshinpuri, Delhi. He has two brothers. His father plys a taxi in Delhi. He studied upto 9th standard. Thereafter, he joined a private job in Kalkaji, Delhi. During this period, he came in contact with bad elements and started committing theft, robbery and dacoity along with his associates. He was arrested in these cases and remained in jail.
About 3-4 months ago, he alongwith his friend Manoj r/o Dakshinpuri, Delhi was going towards Dakshinpuri from Malviya Nagar after purchasing liquor. His motorcycle touched a child near Triveni Complex, where a person beat him and his friend Manoj for the accident. In order to take revenge, they kept an eye on that person. On 30.01.2017, they noticed that the said person was going with his daughter near Chirag Delhi drain. He and his friend Manoj shot at that person with their country made pistols and the bullet of Manoj’s pistol hit that person near his neck. His country made pistol could not fire. After that, they ran away from the spot. He has also provided specific clue about his associate Manoj and the weapon of offence.

Accused Lalit has been arrested under relevant sections of law. Local police of PS Malviya Nagar, Delhi has been informed about the arrest of the accused. Efforts are being made to apprehend his associate Manoj.

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp. Sanjay Nagpal, Inspr. Prabhat Kumar & Insp.
