Induction of Public Facilitation Officers at Police Stations


As a step towards smoothening the grievance redressal at Police Stations, Delhi Police has inducted 60 women Public Facilitation Officers in 20 police stations.  This has been done to make the Public Facilitation Desk more responsive, empathetic and effective.   In due course, the facility will be extended to other police stations in Delhi. Earlier, the Duty Officer was supposed to interact with the visitors/ complainants in the police stations.  It was experienced that due to the pre-occupation of the Duty Officer with many other urgent duties, the visitors had to wait for a long period of time for them to be attended to.  Also many a times, the visit to the police station by a complainant was not fruitful as the I.O./SHO was not available in the police station for some reason or the other.  In order to take care of these problems which were normally being faced by the public, the Public Facilitation Officers have been inducted in police stations.
The women Public Facilitation Officers have been trained and duly sensitized.  They were chosen after a proper interview and put on an intensive training for 3 days.  Three Public Facilitation Officers will work at the Public Facilitation Desk round-the-clock in 3 shifts.
Shri Amulya Patnaik, Commissioner of Police, Delhi, formally launched the scheme of Public Facilitation Officer in a function held at PS Connaught Place on 17.2.2017.  The list of 20 police stations where, to start with, the Public Facilitation Officers have been provided, is attached.

Sagar @ Punter a sharp shooter of Naveen Khati Gang arrested

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp. Sanjay Nagpal, Inspr. Prabhat Kumar & Insp. Pankaj Kumar under the supervision of Shri Pankaj Sood, ACP has arrested sharp shooter of notorious and desperate gangster Naveen @ Khati namely  Sagar @ Punter, alongwith his associate Ravi @ Cheeru. Two pistols alongwith 9 cartridges were recovered from their possession.  A Bullet Motor-Cycle used by gangster has also been seized. HE ALLEGEDELY OPERATED INSIDE THE JAIL CARRYING REWARD OF Rs. 20,000/- District Anti Robbery Cell, NWD has nabbed a desperate extortionist namely Harsimran @ Badal @ Simran s/o Harvinder Singh r/o BK-1/103-A, East Shalimar Bagh, Delhi, who is gang leader of Harsimran @ Badal Gang and carrying reward of Rs. 20000/-. He is a dreaded criminal of PS Shalimar Bagh and is involved in total 15 cases including two murders at PS Burari & Mandir Marg.
