THREE DREADED, NOTORIOUS & HARDCORE GANGSTERS WHO WERE SYMBOL OF TERROR NAMELY GAGAN DHINGRA, ASHWANI KUMAR @ SUNNY @ TELLI AND KARAN SHARMA ARRESTED WITHIN 24 HOURS OF INCIDENT BY THE STAFF OF AATS/SOUTH-WEST DISTRICT, NEW DELHI

• ACCUSED GAGAN DHINGRA, ASHWANI KUMAR @ SUNNY @ TELLI AND KARAN SHARMA ARRESTED.
• THE KINGPIN OF THE GANG IS GAGAN DHINGRA WHO IS A SCHOOL DROPOUT AND HIS ROLE MODEL WAS CHARACTER OF SANJAY DUTT IN HOLLYWOOD EPIC “VASTAV”.
• THE GANG WAS SYMBOL OF TERROR IN THE AREA.
• ACCUSED GAGAN DHINGRA WAS MEMBER OF RAVINDER @ BIDDI GANG AND ALSO HAS PREVIOUS CRIMINAL RECORD.
• ONE PISTOL WITH LIVE CARTRIDGE RECOVERED.

The sleuths of AATS of South West under the supervision of Insp. Raj Kumar and leadership of SI Manoj Bhatia, HC Vinod Kumar, HC Jitender, Ct Jagat Singh, Ct Vikas & Ct Sujeet arrested three dreaded & hardcore criminals namely (1) Gagan Dhingra S/o Sh. Sanjay Dhingra R/o H. No. 190, Dwarka More, Rama Park, Uttam Nagar New Delhi age-20 years. (2) Ashwani Kumar @ Sunny @ Telli S/o Ramesh Kumar R/o A-34, Shakti Vihar, Mohan Garden, Uttam Nagar, Delhi age-21 Years and (3) Karan Sharma S/o Purshotam Partap Sharma R/o L-2B, 43 & 44 Mohan Garden, Near Neel Kanth Mandir, Uttam Nagar, New Delhi age-19 Years. The kingpin of the gang is Gagan Dhingra, who is a school dropout and has previous criminal record.  Earlier he was a gang member of Ravinder @ Bidi Gang and his favorite.  Ravinder @ Bidi was BC of PS Bindapur, not only he was having many cases of murder, attempt to murder, robbery, extortion etc. registered against him but also was running an extortion racket in the area of South-West, Delhi.  Accused Gagan Dhingra also went to jail in a case of Arms Act from PS Uttam Nagar, Delhi.  When he was in jail in April 2015 Ravinder @ Bidi & his associate Aashu @ Pandit were murdered in a gang war in the area of PS Bindapur.  After coming out from jail Gagan Dhingra constituted his own gang with Ashwani Kumar @ Sunny @ Telli, Karan Sharma, Naveen & Lala etc.  He was very much impressed by the character of Sanjay Dutt in Hollywood movie “VASTAV” and wanted to take revenge from his enemies and wanted to establish his terror in the area.

THE INCIDENTS : On 15/05/16 the complainant Karan S/o Suraj R/o A-20, Mohan Garden, Uttam Nagar, Delhi reported that three persons namely Gagan Dhingra, Karan Sharma and one more came to his Garment Shop at Budh Bazaar Road, Uttam Nagar, Delhi.  The trio threatened him and forced him to shut down the shop or to face dire consequences.  They also beaten him with kicks & punches and broken the glasses of the shop and ran away with a purse having 10-11 thousands Rupees etc.  On his statement Case FIR No. 466/16 dated 15/05/16 U/s 379/427/323/34 IPC was registered at PS Uttam Nagar, Delhi.

On 08/08/16 the complainant Manish S/o Budh Sain R/o M-114, Mohan Garden, Uttam Nagar, New Delhi reported that Gagan Dhingra, Karan, Telli & one other came to him to take revenge of a quarrel which took place in the year 2015.  The accused persons were on two motor cycles who threatened him to kill him and one of the accused Gagan fired with PISTOL and fled away from the spot after extending threats.  Hence Case FIR No. 629/16 U/s 336/506/34 IPC & 25/27/54/59 Arms Act was registered at PS Uttam Nagar, Delhi and investigation of the case was taken up.  

THE MAKING OF A GANG : The kingpin of the gang Gagan Dhingra is a school dropout and from him teenage came in contact with bad elements of the society and started committing petty thefts.  With the passage of time he graduated in crime and started committing more heinous crimes.  In the year 2014 he joined infamous gang of Ravinder @ Bidi and was his pet gang member.  Ravinder @ Bidi was BC of PS Bindapur, not only he was having many cases of murder, attempt to murder, robbery, extortion etc. registered against him but also was running an extortion racket in the area of South-West, Delhi.  Accused Gagan Dhingra also went to jail in a case of Arms Act from PS Uttam Nagar, Delhi.  When he was in jail in April 2015 Ravinder @ Bidi & his associate Aashu @ Pandit were murdered in a gang war in the area of PS Bindapur.  After coming out from jail Gagan Dhingra constituted his own gang with Ashwani Kumar @ Sunny @ Telli, Karan Sharma, Naveen & Lala etc.

TEAM & OPERATION: The incident was not only very odious & heinous but also involved the risk of killing the general belief of public at large was on the verge of collapsing.  Hence Insp. Raj Kumar, AATS/South-West was assigned the task to collect the criminal intelligence, arrest the criminals and curb the crime with an iron hand.  Massive efforts were launched to trace and apprehend the accused persons who had orchestrated and executed the crime.  The efforts comprises of on-ground verification clubbed with in-depth technical surveillance.  On 09/08/2016 secret information was received that at 6.00 PM accused persons will pass through Sulahkul Mandir, Old Palam Road, Kakrola, Delhi.  Hence under the supervision of ACP/Operations a dedicated team of police officers under the leadership of Insp. Raj Kumar was formed.  The information was developed & verified and a trap was laid near Sulahkul Mandir, Old Palam Road, Kakrola, Delhi.  At about 6.00 PM accused persons Gagan Dhingra, Ashwani @ Sunny @ Telli and Karan Sharma arrived there.  On the instance of the secret informer the trios were apprehended and on the search of accused Gagan Dhingra one loaded PISTOL was recovered.   A Case FIR No. 386/16 U/s 25/54/59 Arms Act was registered at PS Dwarka North, New Delhi.  Further, on sustained interrogation the accused persons confessed their involvement in the above case of PS Uttam Nagar.
