TWO PERSONS INVOLVED IN DRUG TRAFFICKING ARRESTED

  • ARRESTED PERSONS USED TO SUPPLY GANJA IN DELHI AFTER PROCURING IT FROM BENGAL.
  • ACCUSED PERSONS WERE TRAVELLING & CARRYING CONTRABAND IN DIBRUGARH  RAJDHANI.
  • THE CONTRABAND WAS PACKED IN SUCH A MANNER, THAT IT COULD NOT BE DETECTED EASILY.
  • KANAN SARKAR HAS PREVIOUSLY BEEN ARRESTED IN A NDPS CASE REGISTERED IN ORRISA AND EVADING TRIAL OF THE CASE.

        With the arrest of Kanan Sarkar & Rajeev Majumdar, Eastern Range of Crime Branch, Delhi has busted members of an interstate gang of Drug peddlers and has recovered 75 Kgs of high quality Ganja.
    1. Kanan Sarkar @ Ratna R/o Delhi, Age-34 Years.
    2. Rajeev Majumdar R/o Distt Alipur Dwar, West Bengal, Age -27 years.
INFORMATION, TEAM & OPERATION:-
Information was received in Eastern Range, Crime Branch on 24/05/17, that one lady namely Kanan Sarkar, along with his associate Rajeev Majumdar, is indulging in procuring of ganja from Bengal and supplying it in Delhi. The information further entailed that they would be coming to New Delhi Railway Station towards Ajmeri Gate side from Dibrugarh Rajdhani at 02:00 PM and will be going to Tuglakabad, Delhi. They will be carrying Ganja with them.
A team of officers of the Crime Branch, led by ACP. Pankaj Singh, Insp. Sanjay Neolia consisting of SI’s Ram Kishan, Dinesh Kumar, Anita Rani, ASI’s Murlidhar, Narender, HC’s Sanjeev, Balik Ram and Ct. Rohit under the supervision of ACP Eastern Range, Sh. Anand Kumar Mishra was constituted. A trap was laid at exit gates of New Delhi Railway Station platform towards Ajmeri Gate side, Delhi and two persons namely Kanan Sarkar & Rajeev Majumdar, were apprehended at about 3:00 PM. During search of Kanan Sarkar and Rajeev Majumdar, five briefcases & bags (2 bags and 3 bags respectively), containing parcels wrapped with brown colour cello tape were recovered. The parcels were found containing Ganja. On weighing the Ganja recovered from Kanan Sarkar and Rajeev Majumdar, it came out to be 75 Kgs (35 Kgs & 40 Kgs respectively). A case vide FIR No.76/17 dated 24.05.2017 U/s 20/29 of NDPS Act was registered at PS Crime Branch. Efforts are being made to search the source of supplier from West Bengal.   

PROFILES:-
  1. Kanan Sarkar @ Ratna. She has studied up to class 7th from Jagdal Pur, West Bengal but could not continue her studies due to her poor economical conditions. She got married in the Year 2001 Initially, she used to work in an export house in Okhla. Before marriage she used to procure and supply ganja and was arrested in a case of NDPS in Orissa. She went to Honkong as domestic help and did face her trial. These facts are being verified. She had separated from her husband and filed a complaint against him u/s 498 (A) IPC in Kolkatta. Her family’s financial condition is very poor and she started purchasing Ganja from Khairul in West Bangal and supplied it Rafiq and Raju, associates of Khairul.
  2. Rajeev Majumdar R/o Distt Alipur Dwar West Bengal. He was born in Alipur Dwar, West Bengal. His father died when he was only five years old. He had gone to school up to 5th Class in Village. He fell in bad company and started betting in cricket matches. He was married and in order to meet his household demands and betting, he decided to procure ganja from West Bengal and supply it in Delhi. Kanan Sarkar introduced him to his work. Kanan Sarkar met at Alipur Dwar railway station and asked him to assist her in carrying and supplying ganja from West Bengal to Delhi.

Khairul had booked the berths in AC-III in Dibrugarh Rajdhani for Kanan Sarkar and Rajeev Majumdar. Rajeev Majumdar and Kanan Sarkar had boarded separately from Ali Pur Dwar and New Jalpai Guri in Dibrugarh Rajdhani Train. They were instructed by Khairul Hussain to look after the bags which were already loaded by them in the train. Both the accused persons were instructed that they will be picked up by Rafeeq and Raju at Ajmeri gate and they were waiting for them.

Sagar @ Punter a sharp shooter of Naveen Khati Gang arrested

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp.
