In order to strengthen police-public interface, a meeting of North Eastern people living in the area of Northern Range i.e. North- West District and Outer District was organized at police station Mukharjee Nagar on 29.9.16. Sh. Sanjay Singh, IPS, Jt. CP/NR chaired the meeting. Sh. Wang, representative of North Eastern people, Representatives of Assam students association, Sikkim students association, Gorkha students association and a large number North-Eastern people living in the area attended the meeting. During interaction the participant frankly shared their experiences while dealing with the police. Their common problems identified during the interaction are inter alia, language barrier, response of police, refusal of auto drivers and security deposits with the landlord. The police team of STF, South District has arrested accused  Ram Babu , age 40 years s/o Ramkirit Sah R/o Masoodpur Dairy No. 75, Vasant Kunj, Delhi   who was wanted in a murder case and was absconding since 2014 . Brief facts:  On 25/02/14, dead body of a male person was found in a sewer at Vasant Vatika DDA Park, C-2 Vasant Kunj. An RTV Operator in South Delhi approached the Vigilance Branch of Delhi Police with a complaint that traffic constablesposted near Apollo Hospital aredemandingRs. 1,500/- from him to allow him to ply his RTVs freely. On this information a raiding team was immediately constituted by the Vigilance Branch. On 26.9.16 the complainant brought Rs. 1,500/- for payment to the traffic staff and led the team to the traffic point near Apollo Hospital at Mathura Road.
