ALOK VERMA GIVEN MAJESTIC FAREWELL BY DELHI POLICE

Today afternoon, Sh. Amulya Patnaik, IPS (1985 Batch) took charge as 21 st  Commissioner of Police, Delhi.  At 11.15 AM, outgoing Commissioner Sh. Alok Kumar Verma was given a spectacular ceremonial Guard of Honour at New Police Lines, Kingsway Camp Grounds.  In his speech, Sh. Verma shared that the city has seen better law & order scenario and a drop in overall heinous crime during 2016. He commended all the officers, staff and field formations of Delhi Police for achieving the same. He further announced that Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, Delhi has cleared the proposal for at least three promotions for the personnel who join the force in the ranks of Constables and Head Constable, and at least two promotions for those joining at Sub Inspector level. An IPS AGMUT-cadre officer of the 1985 batch, Amuly a Patnaik is a renowned personality in the field of law and order having handled several critical assignments in Delhi Police.  His dedication and impeccable leadership brought vast improvement in crime investigation, leading to noteworthy detections such as the Bombay blast accused, the parcel bomb case, the sensational Sarita Vihar kidnapping of a school boy by armed gangsters which was solved in a record 12 hours, the dreaded Asghar gang of dacoits and so on. He was at the forefront of the police action to quell riots in two mammoth public rallies - anti-Dunkel and Uttarakhand. He received a grave injury during the anti-Dunkel rally in 1994 in which the mob turned violent. In 1995, Patnaik took the initiative to launch Pratidhi, a Delhi Police programme to extend counselling and other assistance to victims of traumatic crimes which also brougth to the fore the empathetic aspect of his profile as a police officer.  It is

Three members of the well organized racket involved in scanning, printing and circulating Fake / Counterfeit new currency arrested.   A Scorpio car and a Motor-Cycle alongwith 3 mobile phones also recovered. FOUR ROBBERS INCLUDING TWO WOMEN ARRESTED, ROBBED ARTICLES RECOVERED           Special Staff of East District along with local police of PS Mayur Vihar has busted a gang of robbers wanted in sensational cases of night robberies in auto, recently reported in East District, Delhi.              A number of sensational cases of night robberies were solved with the arrest of these robbers. A cash reward of Rs.1,00,000/- was declared by Delhi Police on his arrest . He is previously involved in more than 18 cases of robbery, dacoity, theft and Arms Act. He is also a History Sheeter/Bad Character (BC) of PS Rani Ki Sarai, Distt. Azamgarh, UP.
