TRAFFIC CONSTABLE ARRESTED FOR BRIBE

An RTV Operator in South Delhi approached the Vigilance Branch of Delhi Police with a complaint that traffic constablesposted near Apollo Hospital aredemandingRs. 1,500/- from him to allow him to ply his RTVs freely.
On this information a raiding team was immediately constituted by the Vigilance Branch. On 26.9.16 the complainant brought Rs. 1,500/- for payment to the traffic staff and led the team to the traffic point near Apollo Hospital at Mathura Road. The complainant, along with the witness,reached near Apollo Hospital.  Ct. Dinesh Kumar, demanded and accepted of Rs.1500/- from the RTV Operator in presence of witness. On the signal of the witness, the raiding team apprehended Ct. Dinesh Kumar red-handed and the bribe money was recovered from him.

On the statement of the complainant, a case vide FIR No.06/16 dated 26/09/2016 u/s 7/13(1) (d) Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 has been registered at P.S.Vigilance Unit. Ct. Dinesh Kumar of Traffic Police has been arrested in the case and investigation is on.

A CHRONIC CHEAT AND PROCLAIMED OFFENDER IN MORE THAN 13 CASES ARRESTED

The PO Staff of PS Rani Bagh, North West District has arrested one Brij Bhushan Sharma S/O Shri Ghan Shyam Sharma R/O 776/14, Sec-14, Faridabad, Haryana, a chronic cheat and a proclaimed offender (PO) in more than 13 cases on 15.12.2015. The issue of arrest/tracing of POs has always remained top priority of policing. A dedicated team is formed in each police station and is assigned the task of apprehending POs declared by various courts of law.  The progress made is also periodically discussed and monitored by Courts and senior officers in meetings.  DCP/NW had also directed staff to pay special attention to tracing of POs.  As a result the staff of North West District has arrested 176 POs during the current year.   The team consisting of HC Rajesh Rana, No.192/NW, Ct Pawan, No.1398/NW and Ct.
