THE INFAMOUS INTERSTATE “NAMASTE GANG” BUSTED BY EAST DISTRICT, DELHI

FOUR DREADED ROBBERS ARRESTED, ROBBED ARTICLES RECOVERED
INVOLVED IN MORE THAN 100 INCIDENTS AND WANTED IN 51 CASES ALREADY
        
 In a major breakthrough, the staff of P.S. Jagatpuri, East District, has succeed to unearth the infamous “NAMASTE GANG” of desperate robbers, who used to rob cash and jewellery articles on gun point from car/two wheeler driving persons. Four armed members of the gang including kingpin Javed Malik @ JD have been arrested. A number of sensational cases of gun point robberies were solved with the arrest of these robbers.
INVESTIGATION, ARREST & INTERROGATION
Since incidents of above modus operandi occurred in trans Yamuna area, a team of P.S. Jagatpuri was roped in for busting the gang. The team started verification of similar modus operandi criminals and also sensitized the informers to collect intelligence regarding the culprits behind this gruesome crime. The massive human efforts and hard work of the team bore fruit when special staff of P.S. Jagatpuri, East District, Delhi zeroed on a Mustafabad, North East Delhi based gang behind this crime on the basis of secret information. The information was further developed that on 19.05.17, while the team was patrolling in the area, received an specific information that members of the gang would pass through Road No. 57, Jagatpuri and will go towards Madhu Vihar on silver colored scooties. The information was immediately shared with senior officers and as per their directions the team comprising of SI Ram Niranjan, SI Praveen Chauhan, HC Rohtash No. 321/E, Ct. Arvind No. 1433/E and Ct. Rishikesh No. 1135/E was constituted under the leadership of Insp. Davendra Singh Rathi SHO/Jagatpuri under over all supervision of Dr. Hemant Tiwari, ACP/Preet Vihar, East District,.   The team laid a trap at near A – Block bus Stand, Road No.57, Jagatpuri, Delhi. At around 01.50 AM, three Scoties, spotted emerging from Jagatpuri Red Light. There were two persons each on all the three scooties. On pointing out of informer, the alert raiding team swiftly swung into action and tried to apprehend persons on two scooties. However, sensing police presence and noticing themselves trapped, the pillion riders of both the scooters opened fire upon the police party. Fortunately the police party got near escape and the bullet closely missed. However the brave team members HC Rohtash No. 321/E and Ct. Rishikesh No. 1135/E showing great courage, overpowered both the pillion riders with pistols and SI Ram Niranjan and Ct Arvind  overpowered the riders of both the scooties after little chase and force. A case vide FIR No. 136/17, Dated 19.05.17 U/s 186/353/307/34 IPC & 25 & 27/54/59 Arms Act,P.S. Jagatpuri, Delhi got registered and investigation taken up. During the course of investigation all four members were arrested in this case.

MODUS OPERANDI :-            

   In their unique modus operandi, the culprits used to roam in a group of two to three scooties. The gang used to target persons wearing gold jewellery and driving four/two wheelers alone. After selecting the target, one of the scooty stride parallel to the targeted car, pass smile to the driver, wave hands offering ‘Namaste’ and made to stop the car at verge of the road. After that one rider reaches to the left side of car and when the driver rolls down the window pane, they open the door and enter the car. In the meantime, another associate sits at the rear seat, whereas other associates stop their motorcycle/scooter close to the driver side door of the car. In this manner the robbers completely block their target and the victim feels stranded. At first, the culprits introduce themselves from ‘Hardcore Pasonda Gang’ and rob all the cash, jewellary articles or other valuable items with the car driver on gun point.
RECOVERIES:
  1. Two Pistols with five live and two fired empty cartridge

2.  Two Scooty used in commission of crime.


3. Two Gold Rings and seven gold chains robbed from various victims

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp.
