DREADED REWARDED CRIMINAL ARRESTED

INTRODUCTION:-THE SER team of Crime Branch has arrested one rewarded criminal Mohd. Meraj absconding in a case U/S 307/34 IPC PS Geeta Colony, Delhi in a sensational attempt to murder case of PS Geeta Colony, Delhi. The accused along with his other associate had committed an attempt to murder on 6/2/17 in the area of PS Geeta Colony and fled away. He has been evading arrest since three months and has been hiding in Bihar and Gujarat. A cash reward of Rs. 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police on his arrest as he could not be apprehended despite continuous search of more than three months.
    
INCIDENT:-
On 05/02/17,  complainant reported that one Mohd Meraj had kidnapped his wife from his village about a year ago. He had confined her for about six months and there after, she returned to her home. Mohd Meraj was arrested in that case and remained in jail for about a month. After his release from the jail, he again tried to contact the wife of the complainant and also threatened the complainant. On 5.2.17, when the complainant was returning home with his son after work, he was intercepted by Mohd Meraj and his another associate. Mohd Meraj fired at him with a country made pistol and ran way. The bullet hit the complainant on his elbow. He was taken to a nearby govt. Hospital by PCR and later, a case u/s- 307/34, PS Geeta Colony was registered on his statement. The local police of PS Geeta Colony made all sincere efforts to apprehend the accused but, he could not be arrested. The complainant was living under threat as he had an apprehension that Mohd Meraj could kill him any day. Looking into the sensitivity of the incident and threat perception, the local police moved for the declaration of the reward for the arrest of the accused. Accordingly, a reward of RS. 50,000 was declared on the arrest of the above accused.



TEAM AND OPERATION:-
The SER team of Crime Branch had constituted a team of officers to apprehend the dreaded criminal. In this context, a team was formed consisting of Inspr. Ishwar Singh SI Ravinder Teotia, HC Mohd. Talim, HC. Vinod, HC Anil Chauhan, Ct. Mohit Kumar, CT Ravi Yadav, CT Sandeep led by ACP Ishwar Singh under the supervision  of Dr. G. Ram Gopal Naik. The team travelled to Surat, Gujarat  and carried out night long raids  at various hideouts of the accused and finally, the accused was apprehended near Nur Masjid UNN Cauraha, Surat, Gujarat on 3.2.17 at 6.00 PM. He was brought to Delhi and was produced in the concerned Court.  
PROFILE  OF THE  ARRESTED PERSON:-
Mohd. Meraj, S/o- Mohd. Saim, R/o- Vill- Padrahi,po- Kansar, PS- Belsand, Distt. Sitamarhi, Bihar, Aged-28 years, got education up to 12th class from his village. He has three brothers and two sisters. He learnt the work of tailoring in his village. Later, he developed intimacy with the wife of the complainant who was residing in his neighbourhood. He ran away with the wife of the complainant from his village and starting living in Surat, Gujarat.  He wanted to continue his relation with her. But, the complainant traced them and got him arrested.

Sagar @ Punter a sharp shooter of Naveen Khati Gang arrested

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp. Sanjay Nagpal, Inspr. Prabhat Kumar & Insp. Pankaj Kumar under the supervision of Shri Pankaj Sood, ACP has arrested sharp shooter of notorious and desperate gangster Naveen @ Khati namely  Sagar @ Punter, alongwith his associate Ravi @ Cheeru.
