SALES MAN TURNED TO LAPTOP THIEF NABBED FROM NEW DELHI RAILWAY STATION

With the arrest of two accused the staff of PS New Delhi Railway Station has busted the gang of laptop thieves and cracked several cases of laptop theft at New Delhi Railway Station.  
The arrested persons are as under:-
  1. Ajay Kumar Singh s/o Sh. Ram Shankar Singh r/o village Chak Abdul Gani, Post Rampur Ramhar, PS Nandaha, district- Vaishali, Bihar, age -42 yrs.  
  2. Juber s/o Samsul r/o H.No. 422, Block No. 2, Ram Leela Maidan ke pass, Kachchi Jhuggi Khajuri, Delhi age-40 yrs.
INFORMATION, TEAM & OPERATION:-
On 13.05.2017, a complainant Sh. Vishal Pratap Singh came to police station New Delhi Railway Station and gave a written complaint that on that day itself at around 5:00 PM, he was travelling by Patna Rajdhani express in 2nd A.C. coach from platform No. 13, New Delhi Railway Station.  He had kept his bag on his seat.  After some time his bag was stolen from his seat.  The bag was containing a Lenovo laptop, charger, other electronic articles and documents.  On his complaint a case FIR No. 459/2017 dt. 13.5.2017 u/s-380 IPC was registered and investigation was taken up.  
On analysis of the pattern of theft being reported at New Delhi Railway Station for the last few months, it was analyzed that there were thefts of laptop from 2nd A.C. coaches of Rajdhani Express trains particularly going towards Patna & Bilaspur and Sampurna Kranti Express train.  
A team comprising of Inspr. Akash Rawat, SHO/PS New Delhi Railway Station, ASI Parmod, HC Kuldeep and Ct. Satyajeet was constituted immediately and several persons were kept on radar.  The records of persons with the past criminal involvements were also scrutinized. A secret information was received that one person namely Ajay would come at Paharganj side of New Delhi Railway Station with the stolen laptop to supply it to someone.  A trap was laid at the informed place and a person whose name revealed as Ajay Kumar Singh s/o Sh. Ram Shankar Singh r/o village Chak Abdul Gani, Post Rampur Ramhar, PS Nandaha, district- Vaishali, Bihar, age -42 yrs was apprehended by ASI Parmod and Ct. Satyajit.  On his search 2 laptops were recovered.  He disclosed that he had stolen both the laptops on the same day, one from 2nd AC coach of Patna

Rajdhani Express at platform number 13 and the other from 2nd AC coach of Ranchi Rajdhani Express at platform number 14.  On further interrogation he revealed that he frequently steals the laptops from Rajdhani Express trains especially going towards Patna, Howrah and Dibrugarh as he could easily communicate with the passengers.  The coach is fitted with curtains and the passengers generally keep their laptop bags on the upper seat and then sit on lower seat.  Immediately after sitting they start operating their mobile phones with Whats App and Facebook chatting application unaware of the things happening around them.  It becomes an ideal time for his operation and by concealing behind the curtains he slowly removes the laptop bag from their seat and easily moves out of the coach.  The passenger remains unaware and the train leaves the station.  Ajay was arrested and interrogated in detail.  His interrogation revealed that he had committed more than a dozens of laptop theft in the last two months.  Ajay disclosed that after stealing the laptop he used to call one Juber and hand him over the stolen laptops.  Ajay used to receive around Rs. 5000/- to Rs. 7000/- for each laptop depending on it’s type and make.  On that day also he had called Juber at New Delhi Railway Station.  
On the above revelation trap was laid at New Delhi Railway Station and Juber s/o Samsul r/o H.No. 422, Block No. 2, Ram Leela Maidan ke pass, Kachchi Jhuggi Khajuri, Delhi age-40 yrs was also apprehended.  One stolen laptop and one tabloid were also recovered from Juber. On interrogation, Juber disclosed that he receives the stolen laptop from Ajay and thereafter earning his margin of Rs. 1500- Rs. 2000/- further passes it to another person.
On the interrogation of both the accused persons several cases of laptop theft were solved as per the details given below:

        2. Case FIR No. 464/2017 dt. 14.5.17 u/s-379 IPC PS NDRS.
        3. Case FIR No. 455/2017 dt. 12.5.17 u/s-379 IPC PS NDRS.
        4. Case FIR No. 406/2017 dt. 03.5.17 u/s-379 IPC PS NDRS.
        5. Case FIR No. 383/2017 dt. 28.4.17 u/s-379 IPC PS NDRS.
        6. Case FIR No. 376/2017 dt. 26.4.17 u/s-379 IPC PS NDRS.
        7. Case FIR No. 375/2017 dt. 26.4.17 u/s-379 IPC PS NDRS.
        8. Case FIR No. 357/2017 dt. 21.4.17 u/s-379 IPC PS NDRS.
        9. Case FIR No. 278/2017 dt. 03.4.17 u/s-379 IPC PS NDRS.

Accused Ajay has stated that he is 10th class pass and used to do the job of salesman.  Due to less income he could not met with his family requirement and hence started stealing laptops about 3 months back.  He came in contact with Juber at New Delhi Railway Station, who agreed for supplying the stolen laptop to receivers.  Juber is a carpenter but engaged in supply of stolen laptop for easy money.  Efforts are on to nab the third accused and further recover the stolen laptops and work out other cases.  Investigation of the case is in progress.
