A CHRONIC CHEAT AND PROCLAIMED OFFENDER IN MORE THAN 13 CASES ARRESTED

The PO Staff of PS Rani Bagh, North West District has arrested one Brij Bhushan Sharma S/O Shri Ghan Shyam Sharma R/O 776/14, Sec-14, Faridabad, Haryana, a chronic cheat and a proclaimed offender (PO) in more than 13 cases on 15.12.2015.



The issue of arrest/tracing of POs has always remained top priority of policing. A dedicated team is formed in each police station and is assigned the task of apprehending POs declared by various courts of law.  The progress made is also periodically discussed and monitored by Courts and senior officers in meetings.  DCP/NW had also directed staff to pay special attention to tracing of POs.  As a result the staff of North West District has arrested 176 POs during the current year.  
The team consisting of HC Rajesh Rana, No.192/NW, Ct Pawan, No.1398/NW and Ct. Ajeet, No.1754/NW of PS Rani Bagh got a secret information about one Brij Bhushan Sharma S/O Ghan Shyam Sharma involved in case FIR No.76/11 u/s 420/467/468/471/34 IPC PS EOW, Delhi.  He had absconded and was declared a PO by the concerned Court on 15.12.2015.  It was learnt that the above mentioned PO is residing in the jurisdiction of Sec-14 Faridabad (HR).  The PO staff continued their sincere efforts and succeeded in obtaining further  information through thorough interrogation of the PO about 12 other cases wherein the PO Brij Bhushan Sharma had been declared a PO.  He was arrested from Faridabad Haryana. During interrogation he confessed to have cheated innocent persons to the tune of Crores. He used to issue cheques to pacify the victims which dishonored on present to the banks on account of insufficient funds. He kept changing residence to avoid police.
