ATM THIEF GANG BUSTED BY NORTH-WEST DISTT

Staff of PS Subhash Place, North-West District cracked an ATM thief gang  by arresting 3 members those who were attempting to break the Canara Bank ATM at Gali no 2, Sri Nagar Colony Shakurpur in the intervening night of 23-24/5/17 also apprehended one JCL.  This crime was committed to get the money for marriage of co accused Manish @ Mandi. From them one stolen car, equipments used like Hammer, rope, Chopper for breaking the ATM and one desi Katta recovered from their possession. With the arrest of these accused 4 cases of Robbery, burglary, MV theft have been worked out.
INCIDENT AND TEAM
On 24/5/17 at around 3:02 am, one PCR call was received that 3-4 boys have stolen money from ATM and two have been caught at the spot. Immediately police rushed to the spot and found that two thieves were apprehended at the spot and beat Ct Krishan along with the public persons were present there. Complainant stated that he along with his colleagues Anurag Sharma was coming from his job to drop Irshad. After dropping him he along with Anurag came at Canara Bank ATM to withdraw some cash and saw that some PERSONS were breaking the ATM to loot the money and were carrying weapons with them. Anurag called his friend Irshad and after his arrival all raised alarm and one more public person namely Irshad also helped them. All accused tried to flee in Esteem car which was in ready position. All boarded in that car and run away but these good Samaritans chase them and beat officer came from the other side ad car driver due to panic hit the car at the divider and all tried to run away. Two were caught on the spot and rest of them run away.  Local police came and investigated the matter. In this regard case FIR No 239/17 dated 24/5/17 u/s 382/511/34 IPC AND 25/54/59 Arms ACT PS Subhash Place was registered. Teams were constituted to arrest the remaining accused consisting SI Sudhir Rathi, ASI Bahadur Sing, Ct Jai Ram, Ct Gaurav ,Ct Shree Krishan headed by Insp. Arvind SHO/ Subhash Place under the close supervision of Sh Raja Banthia, ACP/Saraswati Vihar.   With the sincere efforts of the staff two accused were arrested namely Manish @ Mandi and Vishnu.

INTERROGATION:  On interrogation it was revealed that Manish was in love with a girl from last 7 years and wanted to marry her. But due to scarcity of funds and his high dreams it could not be done. Firstly he shared with Ankit and both agreed and initially they committed robbery in Prashant Vihar and looted Rs 96,500/- and one laptop from Swiggy shop. There after they tried to break into the Union Bank near M2K, Rani Bagh but due to raising of siren it could not be done. They, however, stole the hard disc of the DVR so that no one could identify them. But still he was far off from his dreams so he constituted a big team and included Sanjay @ Sanju, Vishnu and one minor in his gang. He showed them the video of how to break the ATM from YouTube. All got agreed and planned to arrange the equipments required for the breaking of ATM. For this crime they needed a vehicle for mobility and to open the inner door of ATM machine. Sanjay who is driver by profession and owned an Esteem car but that was not in good condition so they planned to steal an esteem car with the old key. They collected one Big hammer, one rope, Chopper and one Desi katta to use in case of emergency.  In the intervening night of 23-24/5/17 they stole an Esteem car from E block of the JJ Colony, Shakurpur and rushed to the spot. Ankit and one minor opened the outer door of the ATM and tied the rope with the inner door hook to open it. They planned to pull the door with the car. Vishnu was carrying the hammer and Manish @ Mandi was just tieing the rope with the Car when these public persons came and raised the alarm.

Accused are in Police custody. Efforts are being made to identify the source of supply for the Desi katta and to arrest the remaining accused Sanjay .

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp. Sanjay Nagpal, Inspr. Prabhat Kumar & Insp.
