As part of the Road Safety Awareness Summer Camp organized by Delhi Traffic Police


As part of the Road Safety Awareness Summer Camp organized by Delhi Traffic Police, a new initiative was organised to sensitize the students about the nuances of traffic management. Senior class students studying in Class IXth to XIIth were taken to selected intersections and they assisted Traffic Police in traffic regulation using hand signals. Practical Training in manual traffic drill has been a regular feature during the 5 day long summer camp. On completion of summer camp i.e. today students got an opportunity to Test their proficiency in traffic drill by regulating traffic at selected intersections such as Vijay Chowk, C-Hexagon and Tilak Marg from 10.30 am to 11.30 am. The road users were also sensitized about traffic rules and road safety norms by students holding placards with road safety messages. Students also distributed road safety literature to the public.

The need for road safety awareness among children can hardly be over-emphasised.  As in previous years, Delhi Traffic Police has organized “Summer Camp 2017” for children in all of the five Traffic training parks. It received nominations for over 3000 children for participation in Summer Camps. This enthusiastic response of children is deeply appreciated and I hope that during the Summer Camp, children not only learn respect for each other as road users and develop a culture of respect but they also become our ambassadors of road safety for their friends, parents and families.  Being active participants, they will also learn to appreciate the hard work put in by Traffic Police and the problems of traffic management. With all this, I hope they will learn to respond appropriately as road users and encourage others also to be a part of road safety movement of Delhi Traffic Police.

Sagar @ Punter a sharp shooter of Naveen Khati Gang arrested

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp. Sanjay Nagpal, Inspr. Prabhat Kumar & Insp. Pankaj Kumar under the supervision of Shri Pankaj Sood, ACP has arrested sharp shooter of notorious and desperate gangster Naveen @ Khati namely  Sagar @ Punter, alongwith his associate Ravi @ Cheeru. Two pistols alongwith 9 cartridges were recovered from their possession.  A Bullet Motor-Cycle used by gangster has also been seized. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. There is a long history of gang war in Najafgarh and adjoining areas. Naveen @ Khati gang is a desperate gang having rivalry with Manjeet Mahal/ Ravinder @ Bholu gang. They are splinter group of Anoop/Balraj gang which had rivalry with Krishan Pehlwan gang. HE ALLEGEDELY OPERATED INSIDE THE JAIL CARRYING REWARD OF Rs. 20,000/- District Anti Robbery Cell, NWD has nabbed a desperate extortionist namely Harsimran @ Badal @ Simran s/o Harvinder Singh r/o BK-1/103-A, East Shalimar Bagh, Delhi, who is gang leader of Harsimran @ Badal Gang and carrying reward of Rs. 20000/-. He is a dreaded criminal of PS Shalimar Bagh and is involved in total 15 cases including two murders at PS Burari & Mandir Marg.
