WITH FRIENDS IN ARMS, DELHI POLICE BECOMES FRIENDLIER POLICE




On 29.07.17, South District Police organized felicitation ceremony of all Delhi Police Mitras at Siri Fort Auditorium, Hauz Khas, New Delhi.  The programme was chaired by the Commissioner of Police, Delhi and was attended by senior officers of Delhi Police and around 2000 Police Mitras from all 13 Districts of Delhi.  
After introduction and welcome by DCP/South District, a power point presentation was given by Joint CP/SER to brief the Police Mitras on aims and objectives of the Police Mitra Scheme and the inspiration behind organizing the felicitation ceremony at the mega scale.  The importance of Police Mitras in prevention of crime, maintaining law & order and communal harmony in the area was emphasized.  In view of forthcoming Independence Day Celebrations, a special sensitization of the Police Mitras was stressed as the need of the hour.
In order to motivate the Police Mitras, the CP, Delhi gave mementoes to 26 Police Mitras who had performed well and assisted the Delhi Police in preventing the crime, maintaining law & order, communal harmony and assisted the police in other day to day policing.  
The CP, Delhi addressed the Police Mitras and appreciated them for attending the event in large number.  The CP, Delhi mentioned that Police Mitras can play effective role in preventing crime and maintaining law & order as well as communal harmony in the area.  Police cannot be available everywhere at the same time but the public person being a law abiding citizen can help police in many ways to prevent crime or to maintain the communal harmony in the area if he is alert and vigilant.  Delhi Police has always continued its efforts to bridge the gap between police and pubic. The participants were briefed about the concepts of ‘Eyes & Ears Scheme’ in which a common man can help police to prevent crime or inform police about any suspicious activity in the area.  Similarly, the participants were briefed about ‘Neighbourhood Watch Scheme’ of Delhi Police which is launched in a particular residential area and crime such as burglary, motor vehicle theft, etc. is controlled with the help of residents of that area.
In view of forthcoming Independence Day Celebration and present security scenario, the CP, Delhi requested all the Police Mitras to be vigilant and alert at the place of residence and work and if they notice anything suspicious or unusual, the same may be intimated to local beat staff or Delhi Police Helplines immediately.
The gathering was presented a Vote of Thanks by DCP/South East District.

Sagar @ Punter a sharp shooter of Naveen Khati Gang arrested

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp. Sanjay Nagpal, Inspr. Prabhat Kumar & Insp. Pankaj Kumar under the supervision of Shri Pankaj Sood, ACP has arrested sharp shooter of notorious and desperate gangster Naveen @ Khati namely  Sagar @ Punter, alongwith his associate Ravi @ Cheeru. Two pistols alongwith 9 cartridges were recovered from their possession.  A Bullet Motor-Cycle used by gangster has also been seized. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. There is a long history of gang war in Najafgarh and adjoining areas. Naveen @ Khati gang is a desperate gang having rivalry with Manjeet Mahal/ Ravinder @ Bholu gang. They are splinter group of Anoop/Balraj gang which had rivalry with Krishan Pehlwan gang. HE ALLEGEDELY OPERATED INSIDE THE JAIL CARRYING REWARD OF Rs. 20,000/- District Anti Robbery Cell, NWD has nabbed a desperate extortionist namely Harsimran @ Badal @ Simran s/o Harvinder Singh r/o BK-1/103-A, East Shalimar Bagh, Delhi, who is gang leader of Harsimran @ Badal Gang and carrying reward of Rs. 20000/-. He is a dreaded criminal of PS Shalimar Bagh and is involved in total 15 cases including two murders at PS Burari & Mandir Marg.
