Notorious thief of Delhi Metro Rail arrested

With the arrest of one notorious thief namely Laxmi Kant Dwivedi @ Rahul @ Aniket R/o- Golden Park, Shivpuri, Krishna Nagar, Delhi. Previously involved in 07 cases. The Delhi Metro Rail Police has solved 8 cases of mobile theft.

INCIDENT & INVESTIGATION
                  
ON 26.07.2017, a call was received at PS-Central Secretariat Metro that a mobile thief has been caught at Central Secretariat Metro Station. On receipt of call ASI Yogendra Singh along with Const.-Kuldeep reached at Central secretariat Metro Station where the complainant Sh. Mehtab Alam S/o- Mohd. Iftekar R/o- H. No.42/4, Gali No.-5, Khureji Khas, East Delhi met and inform that on 25.07.2017 he was going to Huda City Centre Metro Station from Rajeev Chowk Metro Station. While he was boarding in train a man in turban pushed him and pick-pocket his mobile phone from his pocket. Another day he saw the same person in the same turban whom he saw in the CCTV footage and raised an alarm, whom police apprehended and recovered the stolen mobile of the complainant from his possession. On this case vide FIR No. 110/17 u/s 379/411-IPC was registered at PS-Central Secretariat Metro and investigation was taken up.


INTERROGATION

Keeping the gravity of the growing incident of theft in Delhi Metro Rail the accused was interrogated by a team comprising of ASI Ombir Singh, ASI Virender Singh, ASI-Joginder, HC-Sakti Singh, Const.-Surender, Const.-Ranvijay Singh, Const.-Manjeet and Const.-Kuldeep under the supervision of Insp Rajeev Kumar, SHO INA Metro, Delhi, Under the close supervision of Sh. R.K. Bhardwaj ACP/North/Metro, under the overall supervision of the undersigned. During the sustained interrogation he confessed about his involvement in many cases. The raid has been conducted at his house where more stolen mobile phone was recovered.
MODUS OPERANDI
During interrogation he disclosed that due to poverty he could not get education. He was associated with some bad elements of society since childhood and started committing theft. One day when he came to Rajeev Chowk Metro Station and saw the crowd. So he decided to commit theft in Metro Station. He used to come with different person at metro Station and taking the advantage of crowd started pick pocketing. He used to dispose it to the some of the receiver at Karolbagh, Seelampur and Vivek Vihar who are evading. He Always keep changing the looks, attires and dresses to save himself from the clutches of police as he knew that his act is being captured by CCTV Camera.

A CHRONIC CHEAT AND PROCLAIMED OFFENDER IN MORE THAN 13 CASES ARRESTED

The PO Staff of PS Rani Bagh, North West District has arrested one Brij Bhushan Sharma S/O Shri Ghan Shyam Sharma R/O 776/14, Sec-14, Faridabad, Haryana, a chronic cheat and a proclaimed offender (PO) in more than 13 cases on 15.12.2015. The issue of arrest/tracing of POs has always remained top priority of policing.
