DESPERATE BURGLARS OF SALMAN GANG INVOLVED IN MORE THAN TWENTY BURGLARIES ARRESTED

• 2.25 KG OF SILVER ORNAMENTS AND OTHER ATRICLES RECOVERED.

• SUV USED IN COMMISSION OF CRIME RECOVERED.

INTRODUCTION

Special Task Force, Crime Branch, Delhi has busted a gang of desperate burglars, involved in various cases of shop burglaries committed across Delhi.

OPERATION

In the last few months many burglaries in shops were reported in various parts of Delhi.  In order to solve these cases, a dedicated team led by Inspr. Shiv Darshan, HC Sanjeev Kumar, No. 284/Crime, HC Narender, No. 445/Crime, HC Ram Dass, No. 1500/Crime, Ct. Shashi Kant, No. 794/Crime, Ct. Dheeraj, No. 979/Crime and Ct. Rakesh Rathi, No. 735/Crime was constituted, under the supervision of Sh. Pankaj Singh, ACP/Special Task Force and such cases were minutely examined.  During study of the cases the CCTV footage of the area was examined and local inputs were gathered.  Information was received by Inspr. Shiv Darshan that one Salman Gang is active and is committing these incidents with same modus operandi.  Hence, the team focused on activities of a member of Salman’s Gang.

On 05.07.2017 a specific information was received by HC Sanjeev that the gang members would come near Nawada Metro Station in a grey colour Chevrolet Enjoy No. DL 8CV 2751.  On this information a raid was conducted and two persons namely  (1) Mahesh @ Vishal S/o Shri Ramji R/o Om Vihar, Uttam Nagar, Delhi, Age-35 Years (2) Chander Prakash Bodwal @ Raju S/o  Shri J.N. Bodwal R/o H.No. 1B, Phase-I, Om Vihar, Uttam Nagar, Delhi, Age-43 Years were apprehended.  On their search silver ornaments weighing about 2.25 KG were recovered. Both persons were interrogated and questioned about jewellery which they were possessing. On sustained interrogation, both accused confessed that the jewellery which they were possessing were stolen by them from a shop in the area of Uttam Nagar, Delhi.  On checking of record, the recovered jewellery was found stolen vide FIR No. 362/2017, P.S. Uttam Nagar.  On further interrogation, they confessed their involvement in more than 20 cases of burglaries.

During the investigation, it emerged that the gang used to operate on the information/ clue provided by Chander Prakash as he is residing in Delhi for many years and being driver is well aware of the escape routes.  Chander Prakash was using his both vehicles XYLO and ENJOY in the commission of crime.   Chander Prakash used to receive extra money from the booty for using his vehicles.  He used to pass on the information to his associates who accordingly used to plan and execute the burglaries.

PROFILE OF THE CRIMINAL

1) Mahesh @ Vishal S/o Shri Ramji R/o Om Vihar, Uttam Nagar, Delhi, Age-35 Years, educated till 8th standard, married, unemployed.  He is previously involved in six cases.  

2) Chander Prakash Bodwal @ Raju S/o  Shri J.N. Bodwal R/o H.No. 1B, Phase-I, Om Vihar, Uttam Nagar, Delhi, Age-43 Years, educated till 10th, married, presently working as driver with the accused persons.

The interrogation of the accused persons revealed that they were fond of living luxurious life and branded clothes.  They used to spend the money on high class call girls lavishly and to meet the expenses they used to commit crime.  The accused persons have been arrested under section 41.1 (D) Cr.P.C. vide D.D. No. 22 dated 05.07.2017 STF/Crime Branch, Delhi.  Local Police has been informed accordingly.
