Sharp Shooter of Sunil @ Tillu Gang, carrying a reward of Rs 25,000/- from Delhi Police, alongwith one of his associate arrested

  • Four cases of Murder / Kidnapping with Robbery including a case of contract killing of an eye-witness Ratan Lal having security cover have been worked out.
  • Having several previous involvements in cases of car-jackings/murders/attempt to murders/robberies, etc.
  • Two semi-automatic pistols along with 07 live cartridges and one i-20 car, used in murder of eyewitness Rattan Lal, seized.
A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp. Sanjay Nagpal and Inspr. Pankaj Kumar, under the supervision of Shri Pankaj Sood, ACP has arrested two desperate criminals of Sunil @ Tillu gang of Village Tajpur Kalan, Delhi, namely Sonu @ Ravi @ Chanu Baba, aged 24 years, r/o Village Tajpur, Delhi and Shekhar @ Praveen @ Sannatta, aged 23 years, r/o Village Khera Kalan, Delhi. Accused Sonu @ Ravi @ Chanu Baba is a sharp-shooter of Sunil @ Tillu gang of Village Tajpur, Delhi and for last few months he was indulged in eliminating the members/facilitators of rival gang Jitender @ Gogi of Alipur and eyewitnesses against the members of Tillu gang. A reward of Rs. 25,000/- has been declared by Delhi Police for the arrest of accused Sonu @ Ravi @ Chanu Baba.    
Incidents
On 05.05.2017, Rattan Lal r/o Sector-22, Rohini, Delhi was shot dead by two persons while he was sitting in his shop. A case of murder was registered in that regard at PS Begum Pur, Delhi. During investigation it was revealed that the deceased Rattan Lal was a key witness against accused Manjeet r/o Nangal Thakran, Delhi in the murder of his son Gaurav committed in the month of March 2016 in Begum Pur, Delhi and in order to weaken trial of this case, Rattan Lal was murdered. Deceased Rattan Lal was provided security cover by Delhi Police and despite that the accused persons dared to commit his murder. On the basis of CCTV footage and other sources, it is further ascertained that the murder of Rattan Lal was committed by the sharp shooters of Sunil @ Tillu gang namely Himmat @ Sonu @ Chikoo and Sonu @ Ravi @ Chanu Baba both r/o Village Tajpur, Delhi. Manjeet had hired these sharp shooters for Rs 2 lakhs for eliminating key witness Rattan Lal.
Development of information and operation
It is mandate for the Special Cell to work against the desperate gangs active in Delhi and NCR. Being key witness Rattan Lal was protected witness, Special Cell took it as a challenge to trace out and apprehend the said desperate accused persons as soon as possible. Apart from this murder, their involvement in other heinous crimes was also established. After identification of the accused persons, several sources were roped in and deployed. The technical surveillance was also mounted. Human surveillance was kept for about two months on suspected persons and possible hideouts of the accused persons. On 24.07.2017, during evening hours, specific information was received by ASI Bijender and Ct. Kuldeep that members of Sunil @ Tillu gang would come to Sector 11, Rohini in a i-20 silver coloured car to meet someone.
On this, a raiding party consisting SIs Ashwini Kumar, Neeraj Kumar, ASIs Bijender, Hari Chand, Mandeep, HCs Devender, Laxman, Cts. Kuldeep, Anil Malik etc. was constituted. The police team took position near drain between Sector 11 & 27, Rohini. At about 7.40 PM, the said i-20 car was spotted and police team intercepted the car. Realizing the presence of police, the occupants abandoned the car and whipped out their weapons. Accused Sonu @ Ravi @ Chanu Baba pointed his pistol towards the police party.  However the desperados along with their loaded weapons were overpowered by the police team. Two sophisticated semi-automatic pistols along with seven live cartridges were recovered from their possession. The i-20 car in which they were travelling has also been seized. A case under appropriate sections has been registered at PS Special Cell, Delhi.  
Gist of interrogation
Accused Sonu @ Ravi @ Chanu Baba disclosed that on 05.05.2017, he along with co-accused Himmat @ Sonu @ Chikoo  murdered Rattan Lal r/o Sector-22, Rohini, Delhi by firing indiscriminately, while the deceased was sitting at his shop. The deceased was a key witness against accused Manjeet r/o Nangal Thakran in the murder case of his son Gaurav committed in the month of March 2016 in Begum Pur, Delhi over monetary dispute.  Manjeet was jail inmate of Himmat @ Chikoo and developed good terms with him and on the direction of Manjeet, the murder of Ratan Lal was committed by Himmat and Sonu @ Ravi.  Manjeet paid Rs. 2 Lacs to Himmat @ Chikoo for contract killing.  The accused disclosed that though they were aware of the fact that the deceased had been provided security by Delhi police and they were looking for a proper opportunity to execute the plan.
Accused Sonu @ Ravi further disclosed that on 26.03.2017, when he along with associates Himmat @ Sonu @ Chikoo, Deepak @ Ghasi, Manish, Pradeep etc. were roaming to locate the whereabouts of the member of rival Jitender @ Gogi gang, they received an information that a Polo car has been overturned in the area of Sector-27, Rohini, in which rival gangster Jitender @ Gogi alongwith their associates. They reached at the spot and found one Sanjay Verma @ Rakesh along with the damaged Polo car. They took him in their Scorpio car and asked the whereabouts of gangster Jitender @ Gogi and when he disclosed nothing he was taken to the bank of river Yamuna in the area of PS Alipur and was shot dead, then they tried to burn his body. Police recovered the half burnt body of Sanjay Verma. A case in that regard was already registered at PS Alipur.
Accused Sonu @ Ravi further disclosed that one of their associate Manish is r/o Mundka who used to get protection money from one Chandan Singh r/o Mundka indulged in trafficking of illicit liquor. For last quite some time Chandan was not paying the same and due to this on 02.03.17 Chandan was kidnapped by the accused Sonu @ Ravi @ Channu Baba and other associates namely Himmat @ Sonu @ Chikoo, Deepak @ Ghasi, Manish etc. in the Scorpio car and  later on was thrown out from the car after robbing his cash Rs. 10,000/-, Gold chain, mobile phone etc. A case in that regard was registered at PS Mundka, Delhi.
Sonu @ Ravi @ Channu Baba along with his other associates had made several hideouts in the interior areas of Himachal Pradesh and Haryana. They had plans to attack on the members of rival gangster Jitender @ Gogi gang. In this course, he had come to Delhi for the purpose of reccee of the members of rival group but on a tip off he was apprehended.
Accused Shekhar @ Sannata disclosed that in the month of January 2017, he in association with Mukesh & Rahul Thakur etc. has committed murder of one Rohit Khapra due to dispute over the issue of dominance in the area of PS K.N. Katzu Marg, Delhi. After that Shekhar @ Sannata fled from Delhi. As he knew Sunil @ Tillu since long, he joined hand with Sonu @ Ravi and Himmat @ Chikoo. He started providing all sort of logistic support to the members of Sunil @ Tillu gang.     
Brief criminal profile of arrested accused persons
  1. Sonu @ Ravi @ Chanu Baba, aged 24 years, r/o Village Tajpur Kalan, Alipur, Delhi.  
Accused Sonu @ Ravi @ Chanu Baba has studied upto 12th class. After leaving the school, he fell in bad company in his village as his elder brother Amit @ Dabang has already involved in criminal activities with Sunil @ Tillu of Tajpur and Sunil Mann of Alipur and other associates. Accused Sonu @ Ravi was first arrested in a case of scuffle at the Jatti Tol Tax, Alipur, Delhi under preventive sections 107/151 Cr.P.C. After that he joined gang of Tillu and started criminal activities.
  1. Shekhar @ Praveen @ Sannata, aged 24 years, r/o Village Khera Kalan, SP Badli, Delhi.
Accused Shekhar @ Sannata studied upto 12th standard. Thereafter, he started wrestling in the ‘Akhara’ of Mahender near Shahbad village. There he met Sunil @ Tillu of village Tajpur who also used to come there for wrestling practice. Since then he has been a facilitator/sympathizer of Sunil @ Tillu. Shekhar’s elder brother Ravinder was already indulged in criminal activities with his village associates and had been arrested many times in different types of cases. During wrestling accused Shekhar got injuries and hence left the wrestling. Thereafter, he entered in transport  business and started to live in with his girl friend at Sector-16, Rohini, Delhi. In the mean while, he came in contact with bad elements and started criminal activities with his associates. He has previously been found involved in four cases of Hurt, Molestation of woman, Murder, Car-jacking etc. in the area of Outer Delhi. Later on he was arrested and in the month of July 2016 he was released on bail.
