  • ACCUSED OFFERED LIFT TO VICTIMS IN LUXURY CARS FOR DROPPING AT THEIR DESTINATION & ROBBED OF THEM BY IMPERSONATE AS POLICE OFFICERS.

  • RECOVERY:-02 Luxury Cars used in crime, 01 Looted Smart mobile phone, 01 Walky Talky instrument, IDs of Victims & Branded Shoes & Apparels purchased by the Robbers by using robbed ATM cards of Victims.
  • 04 accused arrested.
The staff of AATS/West District has busted a gang of robbers namely (1) Rohit, (2) Pawan, (3) Suraj & (4) Deepak. They robbed innocent people by impersonating themselves as Police Officers. With their arrest 02 Luxury Cars, 01 Looted mobile phone, 01 Walky Talky Instrument, IDs of Victims and Branded Shoes/Apparels purchased by the Robbers by using robbed ATM cards of Victims have been recovered from their possession.  
PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSON

  1. Rohit R/o Raj Nagar-II, Palam Colony, New Delhi. Age 22 Yrs.
  2. Pawan R/o Raj Nagar-II, Palam Colony, New Delhi. Age 30 Yrs.       
  3. Suraj R/o Raj Nagar-I, Palam Colony, New Delhi. Age 23 Yrs.
  4. Deepak R/o Balmiki Colony, Near Puliya, Village Mandawali, New Delhi. Age 27 Yrs.
RECOVERY:-
  1. 02 Luxury Cars Swift Dzire and Tata Manza used in crime.
  2. 01 Looted Redmi mobile phone.
  3. 01 Walky Talky ( Made in China ) Instrument.
  4. IDs of Victims.
  5. Shoes & Apparels (DC brand ) worth Rs.60,000/- purchased by the Robbers by using robbed ATM cards of Victims.

  3. FIR No 170/17, Dt.08/07/2017, U/s 420/34 IPC, PS Maya Puri, Delhi.
  4. FIR No 227/17, Dt.02/06/2017, U/s 328/420/34 IPC, PS Hari Nagar, Delhi.
  5. FIR No 50/17, Dt.05/02/2017, U/s 392/34 IPC, PS Janak Puri, Delhi.
TEAM & OPERATION:-
In the intervening night of 10-11.06.2017 at about 9.30 PM, the complainant Sh. Dinesh Kumar was waiting on Pankha Road, Janak Puri  for going to Anand Vihar Railway Station. A person also standing at bus stand became friendly with the complainant and shared their destination with the complainant. In the mean time, a car came there and asked the victim to lift towards Anand Vihar Railway Station. The victim alongwith the imposter boarded in the car. On the way, the driver introduced himself as SI Satbir and co-driver as SI Rajbir who was handling a wireless set.  Suddenly, a message was flashed by the occupants that a Red color Car did not stop despite the direction of Police officers. In the message the broadcasters was directing all pickets to intercept the car. In lieu of the message the accused asked the victim to take out his belongings as they need to verify them. The victim gave his Mobile Phone, cash and ATM Card to them.  The accused posing as Police officers asked the PIN number of the ATM card and the victim disclose the PIN number as he was convinced that the accused were Police officer. Later, they abandoned the victim in the lonely mid way and sped away with the belongings. Immediately, the accused withdrawn Rs. 80,000/- from the ATM cards and purchased shoes and apparels from a Mall by using the ATM cards. In this regard a case vide FIR No.284/17 dt. 7.7.17 u/s 420/34 IPC was registered at PS Janak puri and investigation was taken up by local police.
On 23/07/2017, specific information was received that a gang of robbers who impersonate themselves as police officers headed by Rohit alongwith Pawan, Suraj & Deepak and much active in committing robberies/cheating in more than 30 incidents would come near DESU Colony, Pankha Road, Delhi at about 7-7.30 PM for committing Robberies. Immediately, a raiding team comprising of SI Charan Singh, SI Mohit Prakash, ASI Ishwar Singh, ASI Bhawnesh Kumar, ASI Ramesh, ASI Satywan, ASI Kirori Mal, HC Sunil, Ct Vikrant, Ct Lalit, Ct Shiv Kumar & W/Ct Divya Verma led by Insp. Manoj Kumar, AATS/W under the supervision of Sh. Jagjeet Singh Sangwan, ACP/Ops. Cell/WD was constituted to nab the robbers.  Accordingly, a strategic trap was laid and at about 7.00 PM, one Swift Dzire car white colour bearing registration No. DL-14 CB-0882 was seen coming from Uttam Nagar Terminal side and identified to be the vehicle by the secret source in which the gang moves for targeting their prey.
Immediately, the raiding party intercepted the Swift Dzire car and apprehended 04 persons namely Rohit along with Pawan, Suraj & Deepak.  On their cursory search 01 mobile make Redmi, 01 Walky Talky (made in china) instrument and IDs of victims were recovered.  At their instance another Car make Tata Manza No.DL 9 CZ-0327 used by the gang in committing crime along with other case property were recovered.
INTERROGATION:-
On sustained interrogation, accused Rohit disclosed that he & Deepak are cousin in relations. Since childhood they all have dream of making quick & easy money and wanted to live a lavish lifestyle but their parents forced them to work hard. Rohit was neglected child by his family as his father married another women and he used to come occasionally at their house and also did not pay for their daily expenses. Pawan and Suraj are also unemployed and have to rely upon the earnings of their father for the daily needs.  One day they met a notorious criminal namely Sonu who suggested them an idea for making quick money by impersonating them as police officer.

Now, the gang in order to materialize the idea were in requirement of a vehicle and accessories kept by Police officers. They purchased an old Tata Manza car for Rs.1 Lakh on installment and a Police type wireless set from Lajpat Rai market. They fed a recorded  Police transmitted message in wireless set of an incident. They committed more than 30-40 incidents on an average twice in a week. The gang members impose as Police officer and take all the belongings of the victims either cash, Mobile Phone and ATM Cards. They used to get the PIN of ATM from the victim and after abandoning the victim took out cash from a nearby ATM. They used to distribute the booty in equally and spent on wine, women, expensive branded clothing and massage parlors.  One of their associate namely Ashish is still at large. Efforts are on to arrest him.
