ROBBERS GANG LOOTED BY IMPERSONATING AS POLICE OFFICERS

  • MASTERMIND ROBBER USED TO HYPNOTIZE THE VICTIM
Crime Branch has arrested a member of gang of robbers, Kabir @ Akbar (26 yrs) s/o Haider Ali r/o T-73, Basti Hazrat Nizamuddin, Delhi, who alongwith his associate used to rob victims after impersonating themselves as police officers.
INCIDENT: -
On 06.08.2016, one senior citizen Sh. Ram Avtar Gupta r/o Priadarshini Colony, Model Town, Delhi went to a nearby mandir for prayers. While he was coming back towards his house, two boys stopped him and told him that they were police officers of the area and that being a senior citizen why he was wearing gold chain and wrist-band, despite warning issued by the police in this regard. They further directed him to remove the jewellery so that they would wrap it in a paper and would keep in his pocket. On resistance by Sh. Gupta, they called their associate, who was standing at a distance and forcibly removed his jewellery. He raised alarm, which was heard by the patrolling staff, which apprehended Hyder Ali r/o Mobin Pura, Nagpur, Maharashtra at the spot while two others managed to escape.
INFORMATION, TEAM & OPERATION: -
The staff of SER/Crime Branch was tasked to collect information on the gang of robbers. The team of SI Ravinder Tewatia, while working on a few gangs of robbers got a specific information through Ct. Mohd. Talim about Kabir @ Akbar, who was evading arrest in the robbery case of PS Model Town. He further developed this information through secret sources and located his hideouts.
On 26.10.2016, the informer provided a specific information about Kabir @ Akbar and his other associates. Accordingly, a team led by SI Ravinder Teotia, consisting of ASI Vishnu Bhagwan, HCs Asloop Khan, Santosh Kumar, Cts. Mohd. Talim, Mohit, Anil Chauhan and Ravi Yadav was constituted under the close supervision of ACP Ishwar Singh, DCP Bhisham Singh and under overall guidance of Addl.CP K.K. Vyas to nab the accused person.
After a swift operation at Basti Hazrat Nizamuddin, accused Kabir @ Akbar was apprehended, who upon interrogation disclosed his involvement in robbery case registered vide FIR No.454/16 dated 06/08/16 u/s 392 IPC, PS Model Town, Delhi.
PROFILE: -

Accused Kabir @ Akbar was born in Jhuggi at Basti Nizamuddin. His father Haider Ali was a vendor, who earned livelihood by selling caps at Nizamuddin Dargah area. He has five brothers and one sister. He came in contact of bad elements of the area and started indulging in crime. He alongwith Sikander, Iqbal, Chand and Haider Ali of Mobin Pura, Nagpur, Maharashtra started committing robberies. At first, they impersonated themselves as police officers and after hypnotizing the victim they demanded jewellary and cash. In case of refusal by the victim, they robbed them by force.

Sagar @ Punter a sharp shooter of Naveen Khati Gang arrested

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp. Sanjay Nagpal, Inspr. Prabhat Kumar & Insp. Pankaj Kumar under the supervision of Shri Pankaj Sood, ACP has arrested sharp shooter of notorious and desperate gangster Naveen @ Khati namely  Sagar @ Punter, alongwith his associate Ravi @ Cheeru. Two pistols alongwith 9 cartridges were recovered from their possession.  A Bullet Motor-Cycle used by gangster has also been seized.
