ONE WANTED CRIMINAL MANJEET SANGWAN ARRESTED

  • ACCUSED CHEATED HUNDREDS OF INNOCENT PERSONS TO THE TUNE OF CRORES.
  • HE WAS ABSCONDING SINCE 2011.
  • HE WAS DECLARED PROCLAIMED OFFENDER IN THE CASES OF PS UTTAM NAGAR & EOW (DELHI).
Crime Branch has arrested a notorious cheat Manjeet Sangwan (51 yrs) s/o Dharam Singh r/o Vill. Kharman, Jhajjar, Haryana, Present Address: A-53, DLF, New Town Heights, Sector-91, Hayatpur, Gurugram (Gurgaon), Haryana.  Accused was wanted in a case of cheating of PS EOW (Delhi) since 2011 and he has been declared proclaimed offender in the said case. He has also been declared proclaimed offender in another case of cheating & Copyright Act of PS Uttam Nagar, Delhi.
INFORMATION AND OPERATION: -
An information was received that one Manjeet Singh, who was wanted in a case of cheating registered vide FIR No.211/11 at PS EOW, was present at his rented flat A-53, DLF, New Town Heights, Sector-91, Hayatpur, Gurgaon (HR). On this information, a team led by ACP Sanjay Sehrawat comprising of Inspr. Narender Singh Chahar, SI Mandeep, HCs Dinesh Kumar, Ajay Kumar,  Narender Singh, Dinesh Singh, Cts. Rajesh, Brijesh Pandey, Deepak, Naresh, Ravi, Rakesh, Vijender and Ravinder was constituted under the supervision of DCP Bhisham Singh and  under overall guidance of Addl.CP K.K. Vyas. On the basis of the information, a raid was conducted at flat A-53, DLF, New Town Heights, Sector-91, Hayatpur, Gurgaon (HR) and accused was apprehended.
INTERROGATION & PROFILE: -
          During interrogation, accused Manjeet Sangwan disclosed that he was born at his village in 1965 and his father was martyred in the war of 1965. He studied upto 10th class. Thereafter, he joined Delhi Police as a Constable (Driver) in 1989 but he left his services from Delhi Police in 1996 for some personal reasons.  In 2008, he started a business of readymade garments and made his own brand in the name of Criston Dior Shoppe. He opened various new outlets of his brand in several cities.
In 2010, a French company got registered a case of cheating and Copyright Act against him at PS Uttam Nagar, Delhi vide FIR No.240/10 u/s 420 IPC & 63 Copyright Act. He was arrested in the said case. After coming out of jail, he was elected Sarpanch of his village. In 2013, he was declared proclaimed offender in this case by the concerned court for evading court proceedings.
In the same year he & his partner namely Virender Suyal induced several investors to invest in his brand and he cheated these investors to the tune of crores. Thus a case vide FIR No.211/11 u/s 420/34 IPC was registered at PS EOW against him and his partner. However, he kept on evading his arrest. Thereafter, he was also declared proclaimed offender in this case by the concerned court on 07.08.2014.
Accused Manjeet Sangwan has been arrested as per law and concerned police stations EOW & Uttam Nagar, Delhi have been informed about his arrest.

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp. Sanjay Nagpal, Inspr. Prabhat Kumar & Insp.
