ONE DESPERATE ROBBER-CUM-SNATCHER APPREHENDED

  • NEVER ARRESTED EARLIER AND WAS ACTIVE FOR THE LAST TEN MONTHS.
  • ONE SCOOTY AND ONE MOTORCYCLE RECOVERED FROM HIS POSSESSION.
  • 25 CASES OF ROBBERIES, SNATCHINGS AND SCOOTY THEFTS OF DELHI & NCR WORKED OUT.
INTRODUCTION:- Crime Branch has apprehended one notorious robber-cum-snatcher Vivek Kumar (21 yrs) s/o Kishan Kumar r/o H.No. 28/75, Kasturba Nagar, Vivek Vihar, Delhi, and 25 cases of robberies, snatchings and thefts of Delhi & NCR have been worked out with his arrest.
INFORMATION, TEAM AND OPERATION: -
On 20.10.2016, a secret information was received at Eastern Range of Crime Branch about an active gang of robbers/snatchers operating in Delhi & NCR. A team led by ACP Anand Kumar Mishra, consisting of Inspr. Vinay Tyagi, SI Dinesh Kumar, HCs Raj Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Devender Deswal, Mohd. Salim, Satyawan, Sunil Kumar, Pramod Kumar, Cts Vivek Kumar, Shyam Lal, Gaurav, Satish Kumar, Shashikant and Babu Ram was constituted under the supervision of DCP/Crime Dr G Ram Gopal Naik and under overall guidance of Addl.CP K.K. Vyas to nab the criminals.  
The information further entailed that this gang was behind the spate of recent incidents of violent armed robberies and snatchings in Delhi and NCR. The team was working on this input and all possible means of surveillance were deployed to track down the gang. Sincere efforts put in by the team eventually bore fruit when a specific information was received by HC Sanjeev Kumar that one desperate criminal Vivek Kumar would come near T-Point opposite Shivam Enclave, Vivek Vihar, Delhi.
Accordingly, a trap was laid near T-point opposite Shivam Enclave, Vivek Vihar, Delhi and the accused Vivek Kumar was apprehended. One scooty DL 13S 7548 was recovered from his possession and it was found to be stolen from the area of PS Geeta Colony, Delhi vide FIR No.21174, PS e-Police Station. At his instance, one more Motor Cycle No. DL-7S BM 3434, make Honda Twister, was recovered from CBD ground parking behind Cross River Mall, Anand Vihar, Delhi. This recovered motor cycle belongs to the co–accused Deepak Kumar. Ram Kumar, father of Deepak, had reported this motor cycle stolen vide FIR No.26915 PS e-Police Station, Crime Branch, Delhi.
Accused Vivek Kumar alongwtih co-accused Deepak had made an attempt of chain snatching on one woman in the area of PS Krishna Nagar. During the said attempt, crowd gathered and both the accused had to flee from the spot. As they had figured out that someone had noted the registration number of their motorcycle, they got lodged false report of stealing of the said motorcycle through Deepak’s father Ram Kumar, just to mislead the police.

  1. One Scooty DL 13S 7548 vide FIR No.21174, PS e-Police Station, Crime Branch, Delhi (PS Geeta Colony).
  2. One Motor Cycle No. DL-7S BM 3434, make Honda Twister, stolen vide FIR No.26915 PS e-Police Station, Crime Branch, Delhi (PS Vivek Vihar).
  3. One mobile phone.
INTERROGATION & MODUS OPERANDI: -
During sustained interrogation, he disclosed that he alongwith his other associates had committed a number of robberies and snatchings. They were using stolen scooty and motor cycles to commit crime at any time of the day. With his arrest, following 25 cases of robberies and snatchings committed in Delhi & NCR have been worked out. Accused Vivek Kumar has been arrested u/s 41.1 (a & d) CrPC by the Crime Branch.

A CHRONIC CHEAT AND PROCLAIMED OFFENDER IN MORE THAN 13 CASES ARRESTED

The PO Staff of PS Rani Bagh, North West District has arrested one Brij Bhushan Sharma S/O Shri Ghan Shyam Sharma R/O 776/14, Sec-14, Faridabad, Haryana, a chronic cheat and a proclaimed offender (PO) in more than 13 cases on 15.12.2015. The issue of arrest/tracing of POs has always remained top priority of policing. A dedicated team is formed in each police station and is assigned the task of apprehending POs declared by various courts of law.  The progress made is also periodically discussed and monitored by Courts and senior officers in meetings.  DCP/NW had also directed staff to pay special attention to tracing of POs.  As a result the staff of North West District has arrested 176 POs during the current year.   The team consisting of HC Rajesh Rana, No.192/NW, Ct Pawan, No.1398/NW and Ct.
