DAY-LIGHT SENSATIONAL ROBBERY CASE OF RS.65 LAC WORKED OUT BY CRIME BRANCH

• CASE SOLVED BY DEVELOPING INTELLIGENCE THROUGH TRADITIONAL POLICING METHODS.
• FOUR DESPERATE ROBBERS ARRESTED.
• ONE MOTORCYCLE PURCHASED FROM LOOTED AMOUNT AND RS.22 LAC (APPROXIMATELY) RECOVERED.

Crime Branch has apprehended four desperate robbers namely (i) Imran (21 yrs) s/o Suraf Khan r/o A-90, DDA Flats, Shastri Park, New Usmanpur, Delhi, (ii) Md. Ali @ Guddu (23 yrs) s/o Ronak r/o Plot No. 761, H.N. HA-3, Gate No.10, Shalimar Garden, Ghaziabad, UP, (iii) Mehraj (23 yrs) s/o Yaqoob r/o VPO Rataul, PS Khekra, Distt. Baghpat, UP and (iv) Wasim (23 yrs) s/o Guljaar r/o VPO Rataul, PS Khekra, Distt. Baghpat, UP, involved in a sensational day-light robbery of Rs.65 lac in the area of Gandhi Nagar vide FIR No.437/16 u/s 392/394/397/34 IPC, PS Gandhi Nagar, Delhi.

INCIDENT: - On 26.09.2016, four men came on motorcycle and robbed Rs. 65 lacs at gun point from Sh. Shyam Babu and Sh. Arun Kumar Jha, who were the employees of Lion Textiles, while they were going to deposit the cash at Bank of Baroda, Gandhi Nagar. After robbery all the four accused persons fled away with looted amount. In this regard, a case vide FIR No.437/16 u/s 392/394/397/34 IPC was registered at PS Gandhi Nagar, Delhi.

OPERATION: - While working on this case, information was received by Insp. Ashish Kumar and Insp. Pankaj Arora regarding the suspects involved in the robbery. On this, the information was further developed and finally, an information was received that two of the robbers gang will be assembling at Shastri Park Metro Station. On this information, a team comprising of ACP N.K. Meena comprising of Inspr. Ashish Kumar Dubey, Insp. Pankaj Arora, SI Vineet, ASIs Ajit, Ajay, HCs Jitender, Rajeev, Praveen, Rakesh, Vipin, Shahir Khan, Sudhir, Joginder, Anil, Dinesh, Rajbir, Cts. Praveen, Nishant Karnal, Ankit, Surya Prkash, Ghanshyam and Anil was constituted under the supervision of DCP Bhisham Singh and under over all supervision of Addl.CP K.K. Vyas to nab them.  

A trap was laid near Majaar, Metro Station Sahstri Park and two accused persons namely Imran and Md. Ali @ Guddu were apprehended alongwith Yamaha motorcycle No.DL-08S-BR-0404, purchased from the booty by Imran.  Both were interrogated and they confessed that they had committed a robbery in Gandhi Nagar area and robbed Rs.65 lac alongwith their associates Mehraj and Wasim.

On sustained interrogation, Rs.2 lac got recovered from Imran and Rs.3.78 lac got recovered from Md. Ali @ Guddu.

Working on their inputs a raid was conducted at VPO Ratul, Distt. Baghpat, UP and accused Mehraj and Wasim were apprehended and at their instance total Rs 16.20 lacs were recovered from their possession.

Accordingly all the above four accused persons were arrested and a total  amount of Rs.22 lac (approx.) recovered from all the four accused persons & a motorcycle purchased from looted amount were taken into police possession.

PROFILES: -

1. Imran is a permanent resident of Delhi. His is married and has one child.  His father was a scrap dealer. He studied up to 08th class and thereafter left the school and started a business of garments but due to huge loss, his business was closed.  Thereafter, he worked as an auto driver. In between he came in contact with Md. Ali @ Guddu and planned to commit robbery along with other associates to earn easy money and commits the present robbery along with Wasim, Mehraj and Shamim.  He is also previously involved in two cases of Mobile Theft.
2. Md. Ali @ Guddu basically belongs to VPO Rataul, Disttt. Baghpat, UP.  His family includes mother, father, four brothers, who work as labours, four sisters and his wife. He is a school dropout after 9th class. He stared working as auto driver but he was not satisfied with his earning and he was unable to make both ends meet and planned to commit the present robbery along with his other associates Imran, Wasim, Mehraj and Shamim. In the year 2012 he was also arrested by the police of PS Seemapuri, Delhi in an auto theft case
3. Wasim is a permanent resident of UP. His father and his four brothers are working as labourers. He is a university drop out from CCS University, UP.     (after second year) Thereafter, he started working as Tailor in his village but he was not satisfied with his low earning as he was unable to make both ends meet and in order to earn fast and easy money he planned to commit the present robbery along with his other associates Imran, Mehraj, Md. Ali @ Guddu and Shamim.
4. Mehraj is a permanent resident of UP. He is a school dropout after 10th standard. His family includes father, mother, five brothers, wife and 3 children. His elder brother Tariqat is also involved in a murder case and presently lodged in Baghpat jail. He works as an auto driver but he was not satisfied with his work and earning and he falls in bad company of Md. Ali @ Guddu and to earn easy money he planned to commit the present robbery alongwith his other associates Imran, Wasim, Md. Ali @ Guddu and Shamim.

CASE SOLVED BY TRADITIONAL POLICING MEANS: - Of late, most of the cases are solved by technical analysis. However, in this case, all such methods could not lead to any clue. The breakthrough came through traditional means of developing intelligence. The Crime Branch teams got information developed by finding out as to who are the criminals indulging in lavish life-style and have suddenly became rich. These criminals were enjoying with the newly earned money and spending extravagantly. One of them also bought a motorcycle on cash payment. Piecing together all these clues, the team analyzed them carefully and zeroed upon the criminals. The operations were executed smoothly leading to arrest of 4 robbers, alongwith huge recovery.
