DUO ARRESTED FOR CHEATING COURIER BOY DELIVERING PRODUCTS FROM AMAZON.COM

  • CHEATED A COURIER COMPANY BY REPLACING THE ORIGINAL PRODUCT
With the arrest of 02 accused, team of Police Station Madhu Vihar East District has worked out a cheating case involving delivery boy of a courier company. The arrested persons are :
  1. Robin Chauhan S/o Bhopal Singh Chauhan R/o D-16 Madhu Vihar
  2. Mohit Tomar S/o Brijpal Singh Tomar R/o Village Soop, District Bagpat

INCIDENT: -  On 19/10/2016, One Manoj Thakur, who is working as a courier boy in a company at Madhu Vihar gave a complaint in which he alleged that on 15/10/2016, he was assigned to deliver a consignment (A Mobile Phone -Samsung Note 5) to one Rehan R/o Flat No. 112, Vidhyut Nikunj Appt., Madhu Vihar. After reaching at the above noted address, he tried to contact Rehan (the registered customer) but not finding him there, he contacted him on his mobile number. The latter told him to deliver the product at D-16, Madhu Vihar. He then  reached at the new address (as directed by Rehan) and delivered the product to him. When Manoj asked him to make payment, Rehan expressed his inability to pay the entire billed amount in cash and returned the package with the instruction that Manoj could come to deliver it to him on the next day. At this, Manoj took back the package from Rehan and returned to his company’s office only to find in the evening that the returned package had actually been tempered. On checking it, he found a “soap bar” inside the package instead of the original product i.e Samsung Note-5. A case Vide FIR No. 536/16 u/s 420/379 IPC was registered at PS Madhu Vihar, on this incident.


INVESTIGATION AND ARREST AND CONFESSSION
A team under the leader ship of Insp. Manish Joshi SHO/Madhu Vihar comprising of SI Sanjay, PSI Priskshit and Ct. Chander Pal under the overall supervision of Shri Dinesh Kumar ACP/Madhu Vihar was constituted. The team collected manual and technical information to solve the case. The team reached at the place of delivery at D-16, Madhu Vihar, where two persons namely Mohit Tomar S/o Brijpal Singh Tomar and Robin Chauhan S/o Bhopal Singh Chauhan were found. The complainant identified Mohit Tomar as Rehan to whom he had  delivered the package.
During sustained interrogation, the duo confessed their involvement in the above said incident and disclosed that they had booked a Mobile phone make Samsung Note-5 on Amazon online shopping on a non-existent address as “Rehan  R/o Flat No. 112, Vidhyut Nikunj Appt. Madhu Vihar” and when the courier boy contacted them they asked him to come at a different address. Mohit impersonated as Rehan and took the delivery of the package and went inside the house on the pretext of getting cash for making payment. His associate Robin Chauhan S/o Bhopal Singh, who was already inside the house, replaced the original product with the soap bar while he kept the courier boy busy and finally asked him to come on the next day.   
Profile of the Accused :

  1. Robin Chauhan S/o Bhopal Singh Chauhan R/o D-16 Madhu Vihar, age 32 yrs, is an intermediate and runs  a shop of mobile accessories.
  2. Mohit Tomar S/o Brijpal Singh Tomar R/o Village Soop, District Bagpat is Post graduate.

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp. Sanjay Nagpal, Inspr. Prabhat Kumar & Insp. Pankaj Kumar under the supervision of Shri Pankaj Sood, ACP has arrested sharp shooter of notorious and desperate gangster Naveen @ Khati namely  Sagar @ Punter, alongwith his associate Ravi @ Cheeru. Two pistols alongwith 9 cartridges were recovered from their possession.  A Bullet Motor-Cycle used by gangster has also been seized.
