Member of notorious ‘Gulel Gang’ arrested

  • 4 stolen mobile phones, ATM cards, driving license, one stolen motor cycle and incriminating articles recovered.
  • 16 cases of theft worked out.

 A team of PS R.K. Puram, South District have arrested one member of notorious Gulel Gang namely Parvez Alam, age 33 years s/o Abdul Wahab R/o H No L 1st, A-738/13, Sangam Vihar, Delhi.  With the arrest of accused, 4 stolen mobile phones, ATM cards, driving license, one stolen motor cycle and incriminating articles recovered and 16 cases of theft solved.
Brief facts : In view of the incidents of theft of valuables from the cars after breaking the window glasses in South Delhi, vulnerable points were identified and a police team consisting of SI Harbir Singh, HC Gulab Singh, HC Naim, Ct Praveen, Ct Manoj, Ct Ajit Punia and Ct Prashant led by Inspr. Somnath Paruthi, SHO/R.K. Puram under the supervision of Sh Anand Kumar Rai, ACP/Safdarjung Enclave was formed.  Sources were deployed to develop information about such criminals active in the area and checking of vehicles at strategic points was started to nab the criminals.
On 04.10.16, on the basis of secret information during vehicle checking near Fire Station, Vivekanand Marg, accused Parvez Alam was apprehended while riding on a stolen motor cycle,  stolen vide case e-FIR No. 005956/15 u/s 379 IPC PS Neb Sarai.  His associate namely Deepak @ Nikhil managed to escape from the spot. On search, 4 stolen mobile phones, ATM cards, driving license and incriminating articles recovered were recovered from his possession.
Interrogation : During interrogation, accused disclosed to have committed more than 50 incidents of thefts of valuables, laptops, etc. from the cars parked at market places, shopping complexes, etc. in Delhi and NCR in last 3/4 months alongwith his associates Deepak and Sumit. At the disclosure of accused, 16 cases of theft solved.
Modus Operandi : Accused persons used to conduct reccee in the area / busy market places / shopping malls on two wheelers to identify a soft target.  Then, one of the accused will break the window glass of the car with the help of Gulel and iron balls and another accused within a movement will pick valuables such as laptop, mobile phones, bags, etc. from the car. Accused persons used to hire a separate room to plan strategy / area of theft and to conceal the stolen articles.

Sagar @ Punter a sharp shooter of Naveen Khati Gang arrested

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp. Sanjay Nagpal, Inspr. Prabhat Kumar & Insp. Pankaj Kumar under the supervision of Shri Pankaj Sood, ACP has arrested sharp shooter of notorious and desperate gangster Naveen @ Khati namely  Sagar @ Punter, alongwith his associate Ravi @ Cheeru.
