Violent passengers mistook father, uncle as kidnappers.

Today on 22.03.2017 at around 10.45 AM a call was received on TETRA wireless set regarding two suspects are taking a child in bus route No. 817 bearing registration No. DL-1PD-1303 going on Najafgarh Road towards Rajouri Garden.
The staff of Rajouri Garden Circle deployed at Vishal Chowk (RJC-4) on hearing the call started checking and spotted the bus and stopped it. The passengers had caught two persons and a child was with them. The aggressive passengers told the traffic staff that these two persons are kidnappers and taking this child forcibly. Their suspicion was because the child was continuously crying. The passengers were aggressive and were scuffling with the alleged kidnappers.
The traffic staff pacified the passengers took the child in their custody and also the alleged kidnappers and took all these to PS Rajouri Garden with P.C.R. vehicle which had also arrived in the mean time. A crowd of about 100/150 had gathered but due to timely intervention and alertness of the traffic staff the situation was controlled before it could have taken on uguly turn. Subsequent verification revealed that the suspicious of the passengers was unfounded. The child namely Tuktuk @ Eklavya @ Vansh (aged about 6 yrs.) the father Sh. Virender s/o Bansi Lal r/o H. No. 1058, Gali no. 5B, New Shimla Puri, Ludhiana, Punjab had brought the child for treatment at Delhi. He along with his brother-in-law Amarjeet s/o Pancham Lal r/o WZ-48/8, Khyala Village (maternal uncle of child) were taking the child to AIIMS. The cries of the child and the fact that the mother of the child was not accompanying the raised the suspicious of the passengers.

The alertness and timely intervention of the staff present at Vishal Chowk comprising of SI Suresh, ASI Rohtash, Ct. Vikash, Ct. Jitesh, prevented the situation taking an ugly turn.

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp. Sanjay Nagpal, Inspr. Prabhat Kumar & Insp.
