TWO NOTORIOUS AUTO LIFTERS ARRESTED

• ACCUSED PERSONS WERE INVOLVED IN SELLING STOLEN CARS BY CONCEALING THEIR ORIGINAL IDENTITY BY USING REGISTRATION NUMBER, CHASSIS/ENGINE NUMBERS OF TOTAL LOSS CARS ON THE BASIS OF DOCUMENTS PURCHASED FROM INSURANCE COMPANY.
• THEY USED TO TAKE TRIAL OF TARGETED VEHICLES BEFORE COMMITTING THEFT.
• CHANGE THE VEHICLE FROM SCRAP TO BRAND NEW CARS.
• STOLEN RENAULT DUSTER, TOYOTA FORTUNER, MAHINDRA XUV 500, HYUNDAI VERNA AND MARUTI SWIFT CAR RECOVERED.  

A team of ISC, Crime Branch has arrested two notorious criminals namely Arif Hussain @ Rahul @ Gola (Age-35 Yrs) S/o Sabir Hussain R/o H.No. 179, Village Bishanpur, PS Civil Line, Moradabad Uttar Pardesh & Lakhwinder Singh @ Sukhi @ Gora (Age- 39 Yrs) S/o Sh. Gurdip singh R/o H.No. MIG 763, Jarwaya road, Heerapur (Dakshin Shetra), PS -Amanka, Raipur, Chhatisgarh. Accused persons are involved in selling stolen vehicles to prospective buyers on lucrative rates after tampering its chassis/engine numbers and changing them with the chasis/engine number of total damaged vehicles purchased as a scrap from insurance companies. They also put registration number of the total damage cars purchased by accused Lakhwinder Singh on these recovered stolen cars. One Renault Duster car No. CG 15 CV 6602 stolen from the area of PS Mayapuri, Delhi has been recovered from the possession of accused persons and One Mahindra XUV 500  car No. CG 04 KV 0010, one Hyundai Verna Car (Engine & Chasis No. tampered), one Maruti Swift Car No. CG -04-HB 7435, One Toyoto Fortuner Car No. WB-06-G-8819 have also been recovered at their instance from Chhattisgarh.

INFORMATION

An information was received at ISC, Crime Branch that a gang has been involved in purchasing the total damaged cars along with its documents as scrap from insurance companies and after scrapping them they use registration number, chasis/engine number of these cars on cars of same make and colour stolen by their associates. A team of ISC, Crime Branch was deputed to develop the information.  

OPERATION

On 01.03.2017, specific information was received that one  Arif Hussain @ Rahul r/o Muradabad, UP would be coming near Presidium School Dwarka Sector 16 to deliver a stolen duster car bearing registration number CG 15 CV 6602 to his associate Lakhwinder @ Sukhi r/o Chhattishgarh. On the basis of information a team led by ACP Sanjay Sehrawat, Insp. Neeraj Chaudhary, SI Mandeep, ASIs Dinesh Kumar, Ajay Kumar, Rajesh Kumar, Ramesh Kumar HCs Dinesh Singh, Rakesh Kumar, Ravinder Kumar Cts. Deepak & Brijesh was constituted under the supervision of DCP Sh. Madhur Verma. On the basis of information, a trap was laid down at road in front of Presidium School, Dwarka Sector-16, Delhi and accused persons Arif hussain @ Rahul @ Gola and Lakhwinder singh @ Sukhi @ Gora were apprehended when Arif Hussain was going to deliver stolen Duster Car No. CG 15 CV 6602.  The chasis/engine number was found to be tampered. A case FIR No. 26/17 u/s 468/471/482/120B IPC has been registered at PS Crime Branch, Delhi in this regard.

INTERROGATION

During interrogation, accused Lakhwinder Singh @ Sukhi disclosed that initially he was running a motor parts shop in Tarn Taran (Punjab) with his father. In 2010, he along with his family shifted to Raipur, Chhattisgarh  and started  auto electrical business there. In 2011, he met with one Alisher @ Imran R/o Aazamgarh (U.P) who was residing in Maharastra through a common friend. Alisher @ Imran used to steal stole vehicles from Maharastra and sell them to prospective buyers on lucrative rates through his sources. Alisher @ Imran roped in him in his criminal activities and gave him two Mahindra Scorpio cars, one Toyota Innova, one Toyota Fortuner and one Maruti Swift cars  stolen by him from Maharastra for selling to prospective buyers. He sold all the stolen vehicles through his partner/scrap dealer Parvinder Singh r/o Amritsar (Punjab) and earned a huge commission. In 2016, he along with Imran were arrested in a case of MV theft of PS Sector 10A, Gurugram. During this period, Imran introduced him with his associates Arif Hussain @ Rahul r/o Moradabad, Salim r/o Jalna, Maharastra, Aman r/o Moga (Punjab) and Vinod r/o Noida. After coming out from jail, he along with his associates started purchasing accidental total damaged vehicles along with its original documents from their  registered owner through insurance company. After taking the delivery of the damaged car, he used to send it to Arif Hussain @ Rahul and Arif got scrapped it through his sources. Arif, along with his associate Kamal R/o Bahadurgarh used total damaged vehicle’s registration number, chasis/engine numbers on the vehicles of same make & color stolen by Kamal and his associates. Thereafter, Arif again handed over the stolen car bearing fake registration number to him to sell the same to prospective buyers on lucrative rates. He did not disclose the identity of the vehicles to prospective buyers and only told that these were repaired second hand cars.

Accused Lakhwinder Singh recently delivered three stolen cars i.e. one Mahindra XUV 500 Car, One Maruti Swift Car and one Toyoto Fortuner to one dealer namely Santosh Yadav @ Babu in Chhattisgarh who sold it again to prospective buyers on lucrative rates. All the above mentioned cars have been recovered at the instance of accused persons from Chhattisgarh.

Accused Arif Hussain disclosed that in 2011, during his business of auto spare parts, he came in contact with Alisher @ Imran R/o Azamgarh. Alisher @ Imran was involved in several cases of MV theft from Maharashtra  and after tampering the chasis/engine numbers sold it to prospective buyers and earn handsome money. He came in contact with Lakhwinder Singh @ Sukhi through Alisher @ Imran. Lakhwinder Singh @ Sukhi send him total damaged cars and their documents purchased by him from its rightful owners. Thereafter, he got stolen cars of same make and color through his friend Kamal. Kamal used to tamper the original chasis/engine numbers of stolen cars with total damaged car’s antecedents.  He again delivered the stolen car bearing registration number, engine/chasis number of total damaged cars to Lakhwinder Singh for selling it to prospective buyers on lucrative rates. They distributed the profit amongst them. The recovered Duster SUV was stolen after taking its trial run on the same day from Renault Showroom at Mayapuri, Delhi.

RECOVERY

1. One Renault Duster Car bearing registration number CG 15 CV 6602 having chasis number of total damage duster car and erased engine number. The recovered Renault duster car found stolen from the area of PS Mayapuri, Delhi vide FIR No. 3860/17 dt. 08.02.2017 u/s 379 IPC PS e-Police Station-M.V.Theft.
2. One Maruti Swift Car bearing registration number CG 04 HB 7435 having tampered chasis/engine number
3. One Mahindra XUV 500 bearing registration number CG 04 KV 0010 having chasis /engine number  of total damage Mahindra XUV car
4. One Toyoto Fortuner Car bearing registration number WB 06 G 8819.
5. One Hyundai Verna, Car Engine & Chasis No. tampered.

PROFILE

1. Lakhwinder Singh @ Sukhi @ Gora was born in Amritsar (Punjab) in 1977. He has two brothers in his family. His father owned an auto electronics shop in Tarn Taran (Punjab). He studied upto 10th class. Thereafter, he left studies and joined his father’s business. He has also been arrested in case FIR no. 184/2016 U/S 379/411 PS Sector-10, Gurgaon, Haryana.

2. Arif Hussain @ Rahul @ Gola was born in village Bishanpur, Distt. Moradabad, UP in 1985. He has six brothers and two sisters in his family. His father was a farmer. He studied upto 8th class. Thereafter he started a photostat shop in court premises, Moradabad. Later, he supplied auto spare parts at auto markets in Moradabad (U.P).
