Ø TWO ACCUSED WANTED IN MURDER CASE OF PS K.N. KATJU MARG ARRESTED

  • Ø    ACCUSED HAD DISPOSED OFF THE DEAD BODY OF THE VICTIM IN BAWANA CANAL.
  • Ø    ONE OF THE ACCUSED IS A SERVING CONSTABLE IN DELHI POLICE, WHO HAD COMMITTED MURDER WITH SERVICE PISTOL.


INFORMATION:-Crime Branch has arrested two accused Praveen @ Kalu (31 yrs) s/o Satbir Singh r/o H.No.1146, Bawana, Delhi, and Neearj @ Master (34 yrs) s/o Raj Kumar r/o Vill. Rewali, P.O. & P.S. Murthal, Sonepat, Haryana, wanted in a murder case registered vide FIR No. 619/16 u/s 302/201 IPC, Dt. 19.8.2016, PS K.N. Katju Marg, Delhi, who along with one Sunil @ Popat r/o Bawana, Delhi had murdered one Sombir r/o Bawana on 17.8.2016. Accused Praveen is a serving constable in Delhi Police and presently posted at North-West District Line. 
       
INCIDENT:- On 19.8.2016, an information of a male dead body, which was stuck in the net of Haiderpur water treatment plant, was received in PS K.N. Katju Marg. The dead body was found having gunshot injuries and it could not be identified. Accordingly, a murder case was registered vide FIR No.619/16 dated 19.08.2016 u/s 302/201 IPC, PS K.N. Katju Marg, Delhi and investigation was taken up by local police. On 23.8.2016, the victim was identified as Sombir s/o Late Rajender Singh r/o H. No. 563, Bawana, Delhi, whose missing report had been lodged with PS Bawana on 21.8.2016. During investigation, local police apprehended one Sunil @ Popat r/o Indraj Colony, Bawana, Delhi on 24.8.2016, who disclosed that he along with Praveen and Neeraj had committed murder of Sombir as deceased had developed illicit relations with his younger sister and who also had some enmity with accused Praveen. It was also disclosed that the deceased was shot dead by accused Praveen. Despite efforts, local police was clueless about whereabouts of the remaining accused, who were evading apprehension and legal process.
       
TEAM AND OPERATION:-
          In view of the gravity and sensitivity of the said case, a team of SER/Crime Branch was constituted to apprehend the wanted accused. Sources were deployed and manual surveillance was mounted to nab the accused. The efforts bore fruit when a specific information was received by ASI Priyavrit on 02.9.2016 about the accused. Accordingly, a team led by ACP Ishwar Singh, comprising of SI Nagender Singh, ASI Priyavrit, HCs Virender, Santosh, Cts Rakesh, Mohd. Talim, Ravi, Phoolvir was constituted under the supervision of DCP Bhisham Singh and under overall guidance of Addl.CP K.K.Vyas and raid was conducted whereby both accused were apprehended at Dhaula Kuan, Delhi.
          During interrogation, both the accused disclosed that they had murdered Sombir due to personal enmity. Further, it was revealed that accused Praveen is a serving constable in Delhi Police and presently posted at North-West District Line. He had shot dead the deceased with the service pistol issued to him. After committing the murder, they were continuously evading their apprehension by hiding at different places.

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp.
