Blind murder case of senior citizen solved by PS Defence Colony

  • Ex-employee of deceased arrested.
  • Robbed laptop and one silver brick weighing around 5 kgs. (worth around Rs. 2.5 lacs) recovered.
The police team of PS Defence Colony, South District have solved a blind murder case of a senior citizen and have arrested ex-employee of deceased namely Rahul Kumar, age 21 years s/o Munesh Kumar r/o H. No. 344, Village Phullar, District Muzafar Nagar, UP and recovered robbed laptop and one silver brick weighing around 5 kgs. (worth around Rs. 2.5 lacs).
Brief facts : The complainant Ms. Kanu Priya Chukhani d/o R C Chukhani R/o B-61, Ground Floor, Defence Colony, New Delhi reported that on 14.09.16, while she came back to her house from market, she came to know that her father Sh. R.C. Choukhani was not opening the door of his office at basement of B-61, Defence Colony.  When she opened the door with another key, she found that her father R.C. Choukhnani was lying on the floor and blood was visible on his face and another door of the basement was opened.  She took her father to Moolchand Hospital, where he was declared brought dead. She further mentioned that DVR and Laptop from her father’s office were also missing.  Later, the complainant informed that 2 silver bricks from office locker were also missing.  On her complaint, a case vide FIR No. 208/16 u/s 302/397 IPC was registered at PS Defence Colony and investigation taken up.  
Investigation : During the course of investigation, a police team comprising SI Vishal Choudhary, SI Prem Singh, SI Amit Maan, HC Rajender and Ct. Mahender led by Inspr. Satish Sharma, SHO/Defence Colony under the supervision of Sh. Jagdish Yadav, ACP/Defence Colony was constituted to arrest the culprits.  During investigation, the police team analyzed the CCTV footage of the cameras installed at nearby locations.  During this period, two suspects were identified in the CCTV footage of the camera installed near the house of deceased which revealed that two boys had entered the house at around 02.08 PM and they remained in the house for around half an hour.  The police team made all out efforts to verify and get the details of these suspects and analyzed the footages of around 150 CCTV cameras installed in the entire locality and various metro stations which revealed that both the suspects had reached the house of deceased from Mujjafarnagar, UP via Shahdra, Kashmere Gate, Central Secretariat and Lajpat Nagar by using different mode of transport i.e. train/bus from UP, metro from Shahdra and TSR from decease house to reach bus stand Sarai Kake Khan before / after commission of crime to avoid being apprehended.  The police team worked relentlessly and continued its efforts for around 7 days and criminal intelligence was developed which revealed the identity of one accused namely Rahul Kumar s/o Munesh Kumar r/o H. No. 344, Village Phullar, District Muzafar Nagar, UP.
On 23.09.16, on receipt of specific input about of accused Rahul Kumar, a raid was conducted at Village Phullar, District Muzaffar Nagar, UP and accused Rahul Kumar was arrested and robbed laptop and a silver brick weighing around 5 kgs. (worth Rs. around 2.5 lacs) was recovered from his possession.

Interrogation : During interrogation, accused Rahul Kumar confessed to have committed the crime along with his associate namely Nikhil @ Bittoo R/o Village Phullar, District Muzaffar Nagar, UP.  He further disclosed that earlier he was working as Office Boy in the office of deceased but he left the job 4 months ago.  He knew that deceased was a very rich man and handsome money can be robbed from his office.  He conspired along with his associate Nikhil to rob the deceased on 14.09.16.  As per their plan, they reached at the office of deceased by covering the face with cloth to conceal their identity.  They strangulated him and robbed laptop, two silver bricks, etc. from the spot.  Accused Rahul Kumar further disclosed that as he was aware that CCTV camera is installed in the office of deceased, hence, they also took DVR to remove the evidence from the spot.  Further investigation is in progress to arrested co-accused and recovery of more robbed property.
