MEETING WITH THE NORTH EASTERN PEOPLE, LIVING IN NORTHERN RANGE

In order to strengthen police-public interface, a meeting of North Eastern people living in the area of Northern Range i.e. North- West District and Outer District was organized at police station Mukharjee Nagar on 29.9.16. Sh. Sanjay Singh, IPS, Jt. CP/NR chaired the meeting. Sh. Wang, representative of North Eastern people, Representatives of Assam students association, Sikkim students association, Gorkha students association and a large number North-Eastern people living in the area attended the meeting.

During interaction the participant frankly shared their experiences while dealing with the police. Their common problems identified during the interaction are inter alia, language barrier, response of police, refusal of auto drivers and security deposits with the landlord.
Addressing their grievances, the Jt. CP/NR underlined the measures taken by the Delhi Police for the safety & security of North Eastern people. They were advised to use designated helpline No. 1093 meant for North Eastern people in distress situation besides calling 100 PCR. Women should download “HIMMAT” App for help in distress. Any women user can raise SOS alert by either shaking the phone or by use a button switch. Keeping in view of large number of students living in Mukharjee Nagar area, an officer of the rank of Sub-Inspector who hails from North-East region has been posted at  P.S Mukharjee Nagar to facilitate them. A “Whatsapp” group “Jagte Raho” connecting students living in PGs in the area of PS Mukharjee Nagar has already been formed by the local police. They were also advised to form a Whatsapp group for sharing information and issues relating to safety and security.

The undersigned assured regular interaction and swift action on the matter related to the North-Eastern people. Sh. Wang appreciated the interaction as it would bridge the gap between police and North Eastern people. The participants assured full co-operation for better policing. ACsP and SHOs of North West and Outer Districts were also present during the interaction.

Sagar @ Punter a sharp shooter of Naveen Khati Gang arrested

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp. Sanjay Nagpal, Inspr. Prabhat Kumar & Insp. Pankaj Kumar under the supervision of Shri Pankaj Sood, ACP has arrested sharp shooter of notorious and desperate gangster Naveen @ Khati namely  Sagar @ Punter, alongwith his associate Ravi @ Cheeru. Two pistols alongwith 9 cartridges were recovered from their possession.  A Bullet Motor-Cycle used by gangster has also been seized. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. There is a long history of gang war in Najafgarh and adjoining areas. Naveen @ Khati gang is a desperate gang having rivalry with Manjeet Mahal/ Ravinder @ Bholu gang. They are splinter group of Anoop/Balraj gang which had rivalry with Krishan Pehlwan gang.
