Gang of burglars busted : 4 accused persons arrested

  • The police team of PS South Campus, South District has arrested 4 burglars namely Virender @ Gadwali, age 28 years s/o Dan Singh r/o Village Chona Bajeri, District Almora, Uttrakhand, Ravi @ Nonu, age 19 years s/o Sanjay r/o Dhaula Kuan (Part-II), New Delhi, Suraj @ Ganj, age 19 years s/o Dinesh R/o Village Mochi Gaon, New Delhi and Deepak, age 19 years s/o Chhote Lal R/o South Moti Bagh Jhuggi, New Delhi and recovered stolen gold / silver jewelry, mobile phones, laptops, etc. and solved 25 cases of burglary / theft.
Brief facts:
In view of spurt in the incidents of night burglary in the area of PS South Campus, vulnerable points were identified, picketing and motor cycle patrols were intensified and staff was deployed in plain clothes at identified locations to keep close watch over the activities of burglars operating in the area and arrest them.  Sources were deployed to get clues about the movements of criminals active in the area.
On 20.09.16, secret information was received regarding assembling of burglars near forest area, B-Block, Moti Bagh-I.  Immediately, a police team consisting of SI Ashok Kumar, SI Amit Kumar, Ct Sajjan Singh, Ct Manoj Kumar, Ct Dholu Ram and Ct Ranveer led by Inspr. Anant Kumar Gunjan, SHO/South Campus under the supervision of Sh. Anand Kumar Rai, ACP/Safdarjung Enclave was formed.  Each member of the team was assigned specific tasks to catch the culprits and a trap was laid at and around the spot.  With the help of well planned strategy, the police team succeeded in apprehending four suspects namely Virender @ Gadwali, Ravi @ Nonu, Suraj @ Ganja and Deepak.  On search of their bag, 2 wrist watch, 1 mobile phone (make Nokia), 1 camera (make Nikon S-6500), 1 purse and 1 earphone was recovered.  During enquiry, the mobile phone (make Nokia) recovered from the possession accused Virender @ Gadwali found to be stolen vide e-FIR No. 000259/16 dated 19.09.16 u/s 380/457 IPC PS South Campus which was stolen by them from F-Block, Moti Bagh-I, New Delhi. Subsequently, all the accused persons were arrested in this case.

Interrogation : During interrogation, accused persons disclosed to have committed many incidents of theft / burglary in the area of PSs South Campus and R.K. Puram in the past.  At the instance of accused persons, stolen silver / gold jewelry, mobile phones, laptops, etc. were recovered from the forest area near Dhaula Kuan.  At the disclosure of accused persons, 25 cases of burglary / theft of PSs South Campus and R.K. Puram have been worked out.

  1. Ravi @ Nonu, age 19 years s/o Sanjay r/o H. No. 74, Dhaula Kuan (Part-II), New Delhi is illiterate.  He commits burglary / theft in the residential areas of PSs South Campus and R.K. Puram during night.
  1. Suraj @ Ganj, age 19 years s/o Dinesh R/o H. No. 13, Village Mochi Gaon, New Delhi is illiterate.  He commits burglary / theft in the residential areas of PSs South Campus and R.K. Puram during night.

  1. Deepak, age 19 years s/o Chhote Lal R/o C/23, South Moti Bagh Jhuggi, New Delhi is illiterate.  He commits burglary / theft in the residential areas of PSs South Campus and R.K. Puram. He is previously involved in 3 cases of burglary / theft of PS South Campus.

Sagar @ Punter a sharp shooter of Naveen Khati Gang arrested

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp. Sanjay Nagpal, Inspr. Prabhat Kumar & Insp.
