LAUNCH OF PILOT PROJECT OF ALL WOMEN PCR VANS

 Women police play very important part in day to day policing in Delhi Police. They form the back bone of our day to day police functioning in various units including Police Stations, Communications, Special Juvenile Police Units, PCR etc. PCR Vans are visible symbols of policing in Delhi. As a first responder they have been playing very important role in day to day policing in the city. It is called lifeline of Delhi. On an average they respond to more than 10,000 calls in a day. The presence of various PCR Vans in the city at different locations act as psychological deterrence for criminals and antisocial elements. Simultaneously they also instill a sense of confidence in citizens who can approach them in distress.
Honb’le Prime Minister of India has always emphasized empowering women. In this direction Delhi Police PCR Unit has launched a pilot project in which five Police Control Room Vans will be manned by all women staff, starting from driver of the vehicle to I/C Van. To begin with following five places have been identified for placing these vehicles.
  1. Vigyan Bhawan.
  2. Jesus & Mary College.
  3. Khan Market Metro Station.
  4. American Centre - Kasturba Gandhi Marg.
  5. Moti Lal Nehru Marg.
Twenty women police personnel have been trained for the job. Each one of them have been provided adequate training in this regard. All of them have valid driving licenses. Women personnel including four W/ASIs, six W/HCs, and ten W/Cts have also undergone training in musketry and firing. They have also been trained in Unarmed Combat skills. In order to equip them with the new nature of responsibilities special refresher course was arranged in the Subsidiary Training Unit PCR, Rajender Nagar, Delhi about behaviour soft skills, communication skills and law.
This initiative has been taken up with a view that lady distress callers find it easier to communicate with women police personnel and narrate their grievances without any hesitation. The impact assessment of this initiative would be conducted after a quarter, and if results are encouraging, the project scheme would be extended to other areas of the national capital especially crime prone areas for women.

Sagar @ Punter a sharp shooter of Naveen Khati Gang arrested

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp. Sanjay Nagpal, Inspr. Prabhat Kumar & Insp. Pankaj Kumar under the supervision of Shri Pankaj Sood, ACP has arrested sharp shooter of notorious and desperate gangster Naveen @ Khati namely  Sagar @ Punter, alongwith his associate Ravi @ Cheeru. Two pistols alongwith 9 cartridges were recovered from their possession.  A Bullet Motor-Cycle used by gangster has also been seized. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. There is a long history of gang war in Najafgarh and adjoining areas. Naveen @ Khati gang is a desperate gang having rivalry with Manjeet Mahal/ Ravinder @ Bholu gang. They are splinter group of Anoop/Balraj gang which had rivalry with Krishan Pehlwan gang. HE ALLEGEDELY OPERATED INSIDE THE JAIL CARRYING REWARD OF Rs. 20,000/- District Anti Robbery Cell, NWD has nabbed a desperate extortionist namely Harsimran @ Badal @ Simran s/o Harvinder Singh r/o BK-1/103-A, East Shalimar Bagh, Delhi, who is gang leader of Harsimran @ Badal Gang and carrying reward of Rs. 20000/-. He is a dreaded criminal of PS Shalimar Bagh and is involved in total 15 cases including two murders at PS Burari & Mandir Marg.
