ACCUSED ARRESTED IN THE WELL PLANNED SENSATIONAL ATTEMPT TO MURDER CASE

  • 02 CHILDREN AGED ABOUT 5 YEARS AND THE COMPLAINANT HAD A NARROW ESCAPE

The staff of PS Bhalswa Diary has arrested accused Neeraj Yadav@Chottu R/O Village Bhalswa, Delhi for attempt to murder on one Amandeep S/o Ranjeet Singh r/o Jahangirpuri, Delhi. 
INCIDENT: On 31.08.2016, Sunita (name changed) R/O Jahangirpuri, Delhi reported that she alongwith her cousin Amandeep was returning to her house after picking up her brother and daughter from School in Swaroop Nagar through GTK road on scooty.  Her cousin Amandeep was driving the scooty.  When they reached near Radha Krishan Murti, they slowed down due to traffic congestion and in the meantime Neeraj Yadav@Chottu came from backside on a motorcycle alongwith Mukesh@Bona.  Mukesh@Bona asked Neeraj pointing towards the complainant “Iska aaj kaam tamam kar dete Hain” and Neeraj fired on her i.e. on Sunita (name changed) from the country made pistol they were carrying with them.  But the bullet hit Amandeep instead of Sunita (name changed).  Both the accused immediately fled towards ISBT Side on their motorcycle.  A case vide FIR No. 444/16 dt. 31/08/16 u/s 307/34/195-A IPC & 25/27-54-59 Arms Act PS Bhalaswa Dairy was registered and was taken up for investigation.
INVESTIGATION : As the accused had committed a sensational crime in the broad daylight and were at large, a massive manhunt was launched.  3 teams were constituted under guidance of Insp. Manoj Kumar, SHO/BHalswa Dairy and under supervision of Sh. Prashant Gautam, ACP/Jahangir Puri to search for the accused persons.  All possible hideouts and locations were checked and kept under surveillance for a clue on the movement of the accused.  Technical surveillance was also mounted to obtain any information about the movement of the accused.  On 17/09/2016 a team comprising of ASI Narender Singh, HC JaiParkash Ct. Kuldeep, Ct. Neeraj and Ct. Kuldeep received a tipoff that the accusd Neeraj Yadav@Chottu would be coming to Bhalaswa Jeel Road. A trap was laid the accused Neeraj Yadav@Chottu was arrested from the Bhalaswa Jheel Road.  

Accused Neeraj Yadav was put to sustained interrogation wherein he stated that he knew the family of the complainant but on 20.08.2016 a quarrel took place between him & the father of complainant at the house of complainant in the area of PS Mahindra Park, Delhi. In that quarrel the complainant alongwith her father and mother had beaten up the accused Neeraj Yadav@Chottu and as a result the accused sustained injuries on his head. Due to this insult of beating, accused Neeraj Yadav had developed enmity with the family of the complainant and her family members and he decided to kill her father.  During his visits to the house of the complainant, the accused knew that generally the father of the complainant or otherwise her mother used to bring their 5 year old son and their daughter’s 4½ year old daughter from their School in Swaroop Nagar area.  Therefore, he decided to confront and kill the father of the complainant during this time.  For achieving his objecting as per his plan, on 31.08.2016 at about 12.00 he kept a country made pistol with him and took a stolen bike to reach at Libaspur underpass to kill father of the complainant.  At about 12.35/12.40 PM he saw that the complainant alongwith her cousin Amandeep is bringing the children from School and suddenly he changed his plan to kill the complainant instead of her father as she had also assisted her father in beating him.  The accused, therefore, chased their scooty.  When the scooty reached near cut for ISBT from GT Road, there was traffic congestion and traffic was slow due to which their scooty also got slower and on reaching near them he fired a shot at The complainant to kill her but accidentally the bullet hit Amandeep.  In this attempt to murder the two kids aged about 5 years and the complainant had a narrow escape as the bullet could have hit any of them as they were sitting on the scooty between Amandeep and the complainant.  The children and the complainant fell down from the scooty as the victim and scooty both fell on the road. The accused manage to flee from the spot.  Neeraj further stated that after fleeing from the spot he went to Haridwar to spend some time there.  On 16/09/2016, he came back to Delhi and today he was going to Mukund Pur to meet some of his friends but was apprehended by the police.

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp.
