SENSATIONAL ROBBERY-CUM-MURDER OF WOMAN WORKED OUT WITHIN 24 HOURS

• ALL ROBBED ARTICLES INCLUDING CASH AND JEWELLERY RECOVERED

The staff of Police Station Model Town, North West District, has arrested three persons i.e. Bunty (32 years) S/O Anju; Sunty (21 years) S/O Rajbir and Sadik (20 years) S/O Sirajuddin  and have thus worked out the case of cold blooded murder of a woman named Kusum Gupta within 24 hours of its reporting.

BRIEF OF INCIDENT : On 11.09.2016 a PCR call regarding suicide by a lady at H.No. A-10, New Gupta Colony, Model Town, Delhi was received in PS Model Town.  On receipt of the call SI Kuldeep along with Ct. Manoj immediately rushed to the spot and found one lady lying dead on a sofa with blood oozing out of her right ear and her tongue wagging out of her mouth.  The crime team was summoned to the spot.  On thorough inspection of the house, the almirahs of the house were found opened with their locks broken.  All the household articles were in lying scattered. The deceased was identified as Kusum Gupta (55 years) W/O Lt. Sh. Kishore Kumar Gupta.  A case of murder was registered vide FIR No.515/16 U/S 392/454/302 IPC was registered and was taken up for investigation. During the course of investigation, the spot was inspected by Crime Team and the body of the deceased was shifted to B.J.R.M Hospital, Jahangir Puri, Delhi for Post Mortem.  Statement of the witnesses were recorded U/S 161 CrPC.  It revealed that the deceased was living with her son Piyush at her address and was running a ration shop at E-11, C.C Colony, Model Town, Delhi.  Piyush is working in a private company at Moti Nagar and had gone to Chennai for some official work.  The deceased was alone at her house on the fateful day.  The statement of Piyush S/O the deceased was also recorded wherein he told that some jewellery and cash have been stolen from their house.  Sensing gravity of the matter, a dedicated team led by Inspr Rajender Khatri and under the supervision of SHO/PS Model Town and overall supervision of Shri Ravinder Tyagi, ACP/Model Town was constituted.

The staff working at the Ration Shop of the deceased Kusum Gupta i.e. Sadik (20 years) r/o Cigarette Wala Bagh Jhuggi was also interrogated.   His statement was found contradictory and led to suspicion of his involvement in the murder.  He was subjected to sustained interrogation.  On sustained interrogation he disclosed that he had come to Delhi just about a month ago to his relative Bunty (32 years) S/O Anuj R/O:- H.NO. 189, Cigarette Wala Bagh Jhuggi, Model Town, Delhi who was already working at the ration shop for 12-13 years before and was well known to the deceased Kusum Gupta.  He further disclosed that on 11.09.2016, Buntyand his associate Sunty (21 years) S/O Rajbir R/O:- N-82/42, Cigarette Wala Bagh, Model Town, Delhi, who is living near their house, planned to rob and murder the deceased Kusum Gupta as she was living alone these days and hence was a easy target for them.  Also she was supposedly having a lot of cash and jewellery at her house. The accused Sadik was arrested in said case after getting sufficient evidences of arrest. As per their plan, all three of them went to market and purchased a wire to be used for strangulating the deceased Kusum Gupta. After that all of three accused persons went to the house of the deceased where they go unforced entry.  All of them murdered the lady after strangulating her with the wire.  After killing the lady, the accused persons robbed the ear-rings and nose pin, which were on the body of the deceased.  After that they ransacked the house for cash and jewellery articles available in the house and ran away from there.

Later, at the instance of accused Sadik, other two co-accused persons namely Bunty (32 years) S/O Anju; Sunty (21 years) S/O Rajbir were arrested from the area of P.S Model Town and all the robbed cash amounting to Rs.37,700/- and jewellery articles worth around Rs.5 lakh were recovered from their possession.  The house breaking implements with which the accused persons broke the locker of almirahs were also recovered from their possession. The investigation has also revealed that no servant verification was done for the employees. All the three accused persons confessed their said case crime.

Profile of the accused persons:-

1. Bunty (32 years) R/O Cigarette Wala Bagh Jhuggi, Model Town, Delhi, permanent resident of Balia, UP has studied up to 3rd standard and is engaged in house/car cleaning.  His father works as a labourer in a Tent House whereas mother works as Maid.  He earlier worked as helper-cum-clearner boy for 12/13 years in the ration shop of the deceased Ms Kusum Gupta.  No other criminal involvement could be traced.  

2. Sunty (21 years) R/O Cigarette Wala Bagh Jhuggi, Model Town, Delhi  and permanent resident of Aita Mainpuri, UP, has studied up to 8th standard.  He works with his father who runs a Tea stall at Vijay Nagar Double Storey.  His mother works as maid servant.  No other criminal involvement could be traced.

3. Sadik (20 years) R/O Cigarette Wala Bagh Jhuggi, Model Town, Delhi & permanent resident of Baksar, Bihar, is uneducated.  He initially worked as a tailor in his native village but was now working as a helper in the Ration Shop owned by the deceased.  His father abandoned the family at an early age.  His mother worked as a Maid.  No prior criminal involvement could be traced for the accused.  The accused was presently working at the ration shop of the deceased lady.
