FUGITIVE PUNJABI FILM PRODUCER GAURAV SETHI ARRESTED BY CRIME BRANCH FROM MUMBAI WITH HIS TWO BROTHERS

  • HE WAS ONE OF THE MOST WANTED REWARDED FUGITIVES WHO ESCAPED FROM POLICE CUSTODY IN 2014
  • GAURAV SETHI WAS DECLARED “PROCLAIMED OFFENDER” IN VARIOUS FRAUD CASES.
INTRODUCTION:- Crime Branch has arrested three most wanted rewarded criminals namely Garuav Sethi@ Golu @ Monu (35 yrs)  s/o Chander Mohan 35 yrs r/o 194 MCD Colony Sector-20 Rohini Delhi (2).  Vikram Sethi@Mohan s/o Chander Mohan (36 yrs) and (3). Manish Sethi@ Minkoo s/o Chander Mohan (40 yrs). Gaurav Sethi was declared Proclaimed Offender in two cases. Reward of Rs 25000/- each was declared on their arrest.   Gaurav Sethi had produced two Punjabi films in 2008  and 2011.
INCIDENT: In 2014, PS Lodhi Colony had arrested accused Gaurav Sethi in a case related to fraud and cheating. On 31.07.14, he was produced in the Court and was remanded to judicial custody. Ct Hawa Singh of PS Lodhi Colony was escorting Gaurav Sethi to Tihar Jail in a TSR. When Ct Hawa Singh reached near DDA Market Jail Road to take food for accused Gaurav Sethi, his brothers Vikram Sethi and Manish Sethi reached there and requested Ct Hawa Singh to allow them to get the signature of Gaurav Sethi on the Vakalatnama. Taking opportunity of this, Gaurav Sethi pushed Ct Hawa Singh and all fled in two Verna and Audi cars.  A case under appropriate sections were registered at PS Hari Nagar. However,  they could not be arrested, and kept changing their location and identities.
TEAM AND OPERATION: - Crime Branch was working on the information for months.  The accused persons were changing their locations very frequently and had also changed their identities. After sincere and dedicated efforts,  HC Satender and Ct Sandeep Dabas got specific information that Gaurav Sethi and his brothers were living in Mumbai under fake identity. Immediately, a team led by ACP Sanjay Sehrawat, consisting of Inspr. P.C Khanduri, SIs Data Ram,SI Rajbir Singh ASI Yudhvir Singh, HCs Satende, Bijender, Dinesh Kumar, Virender,  Hanuman, Ravinder,  Cts Sandeep Dabas and Saurabh Saini was constituted under the supervision of  DCP Bhisham Singh and under overall guidance of  Addl.CP K.K Vyas.  Acting on the information, the team arrested the accused person from Mumbai where they were residing with their families under fictitious identity.
PROFILE & INTERROGATION: -
1. Gaurav Sethi @Golu @ Monu s/o late Chander Mohan
He was born and brought up in Karol Bagh, Delhi. His father was in timber business. He studied up to 12th class from Harcourt Butler School. He took admission in Khalsa College but dropped out after Ist year. Thereafter, he did some odd works and in 2001, he worked with Standard Chartered Bank in Verification Department.
In 2003 he opened an office in Rohini Delhi in the name of ‘GS Builder’. He would assist the clients in getting loans from various banks such as Dena Bank, PNB, Bank Of Maharastra etc. Later on, he used to prepare forged documents and take loan on bogus properties.He used to take handsome commission and bought several properties.
However, many cases were registered against him in various Police Stations and he went underground. In 2014,  he was arrested by PS Lodhi Colony but he fled from police custody while being taken to Tihar Jail.  
After his escape, they went to Chandigarh and from there, they came to Mumbai where they were living under fictitious identities and with the money he had taken with him from Delhi, he again got engaged in finance business by giving loans to the individuals on higher rate of interest.
He earlier run casinos in Mariott, Panaji (Goa), Colombo (Sri Lanka) and Nepal. Later, he developed craze for Bollywood fame and lifestyle.
In the year 2008, he produced a Punjabi film ‘Watno-Dur’, which was filmed in Mauritius starring famous Punjabi actors which was released all over India. Gurusewak Mann, Deep Dhillon, Upasana Singh, Raza Murad have acted in this film, and Hansraj Hans was the playback singer.
In the year 2011, he produced another Punjabi film ‘Baba Bulleshah’, in which Ustad Tafu Khan of Lahore (Pakistan) was the music composer-director.He is a very famous Tabla Player. However, it could not be released due to some problems with the distributor.

Sagar @ Punter a sharp shooter of Naveen Khati Gang arrested

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp. Sanjay Nagpal, Inspr. Prabhat Kumar & Insp. Pankaj Kumar under the supervision of Shri Pankaj Sood, ACP has arrested sharp shooter of notorious and desperate gangster Naveen @ Khati namely  Sagar @ Punter, alongwith his associate Ravi @ Cheeru.
