A SENSATIONAL CASE OF THEFT OF JEWELLARY WORTH RS 2 CRORE SOLVED

With the arrest of an accused and apprehension of one Juvenile, a sensational case of theft of jewellery worth Rs. 2 Crore (approx) has been worked out. The arrested person is: Vinay @ Ajay S/o Algar Swami R/o H.No- BH- 97 JJ Camp Madangir Delhi
INCIDENT: On 31/08/2016, complainant who is a jeweller merchant and resident of Patparganj Area stated that while he was going towards Vikas Marg , his car got punctured and he came outside from the car. While he was waiting for mechanical help, two boys on motorcycle came and broke the window pane of his car and stolen a bag containing jewellery. A case vide FIR No- 282/16 U/s 379/34 IPC was registered in police station Preet Vihar.
TEAM & INVESTIGATION : A team under the leadership of Insp. Ratanpal, SHO Preet Vihar comprising of SI R.S Pandit , SI Kishanveer Bhati, H.C Suneet  No-201/E, Ct. Rajveer Tomar, No. 1334/E and Ct. Sandeep Dahiya   No. 1688/E and overall supervision of Shri Sanjeev Gupta, ACP/Preet Vihar was constituted. During the course of investigation, the team collected the manual and technical information & surveillance to crack down the case. CCTV footages of various CCTV cameras installed near the place of the incident and the route were collected and analyzed.

On the basis of the clue obtained, team identified the accused person. Accused Vinay @ Ajay S/o Algar Swami R/o H.No- BH- 97 JJ Camp Madangir Delhi was arrested and one Juvenile was also apprehended. Stolen jewellery along with motor cycle and other equipments  used in committing the offence were recovered from their possession.
INTERROGATION: During Interrogation, accused Vinay S/o Algar Swami confessed his involvement in the said incident along with the Juvenile. He further stated that he along with his juvenile friend was on a white apache motor cycle near Karkardooma Court when they saw the complainant moving in his car with a bag kept on the seat. They started following the complainant and when he reached Karkari More  red light, he punctured the rear tyre of complainant’s car and when complainant stopped his car and was looking for a mechanical help, the JCL broke the window pane of the car and stole the bag containing jewellery and they both fled away on the motorcycle.

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp. Sanjay Nagpal, Inspr. Prabhat Kumar & Insp.
