Valediction Ceremony of the Road Safety Awareness Summer Camp – 2017

The valedictory function of the Road Safety Awareness Summer Camp-2017 organised by Delhi Traffic Police was held at Traffic Training Park, Punjabi Bagh on 9th June 2017 from 0900 hrs onwards. Sh. Ajay Kashyap, Spl. Commissioner of Police/Traffic graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Ms. Garima Bhatnagar and Sh. S.B.S. Tyagi Jt. Commissioners of Police/Traffic; Sh. Vijay Sethi, CEO & Head CSR Hero Motocorp  and Ms. Meenakshi Kukreja, Dy. Director SIAM were the guests of honour. The Chief Guest and dignitaries planted trees at Traffic Training Park, Punjabi Bagh as prelude to the function.
Speaking on the occasion Sh. Ajay Kashyap, Spl. Commissioner of Police reiterated the special role of students as ambassadors of road safety. Stakeholders who partnered with Delhi Traffic Police in the initiative were SIAM, IGL, Hero Motocorp and Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India.  Overall winners of the essay writing competition and quiz competition were felicitated by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries.
The summer camps were organized in four batches each of 5 days’ duration from 15th May to 9th June 2017 at the five Traffic Training Parks. A total of 2440 students participated in the summer camp during the one-month long summer camp. The participating students were imparted training in traffic rules and road safety by faculty members from Delhi Traffic Police, Training in Fire Safety by members from Delhi Fire Services, First Aid by representatives from St. John’s Ambulance, Disaster Management by faculty members from Delhi Disaster Management Association and Self Defense by Special Protection Unit for Women & Children (SPUWAC).
This year Delhi Traffic Police added a new feature to the summer camp with a view to sensitize the students about the nuances of traffic management. Senior class students studying in Class IX - XII were taken to select intersections where they assisted Traffic Police in traffic regulation using hand signals.


The Road safety Awareness Summer camp has received overwhelming response and appreciation from all quarters, especially students, parents and teachers were all praise for the initiatives taken by Delhi Traffic Police in imbibing and instilling good and safe behavior and life skill techniques among the children.

Sagar @ Punter a sharp shooter of Naveen Khati Gang arrested

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp. Sanjay Nagpal, Inspr. Prabhat Kumar & Insp. Pankaj Kumar under the supervision of Shri Pankaj Sood, ACP has arrested sharp shooter of notorious and desperate gangster Naveen @ Khati namely  Sagar @ Punter, alongwith his associate Ravi @ Cheeru. Two pistols alongwith 9 cartridges were recovered from their possession.  A Bullet Motor-Cycle used by gangster has also been seized. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. There is a long history of gang war in Najafgarh and adjoining areas. Naveen @ Khati gang is a desperate gang having rivalry with Manjeet Mahal/ Ravinder @ Bholu gang. They are splinter group of Anoop/Balraj gang which had rivalry with Krishan Pehlwan gang. HE ALLEGEDELY OPERATED INSIDE THE JAIL CARRYING REWARD OF Rs. 20,000/- District Anti Robbery Cell, NWD has nabbed a desperate extortionist namely Harsimran @ Badal @ Simran s/o Harvinder Singh r/o BK-1/103-A, East Shalimar Bagh, Delhi, who is gang leader of Harsimran @ Badal Gang and carrying reward of Rs. 20000/-. He is a dreaded criminal of PS Shalimar Bagh and is involved in total 15 cases including two murders at PS Burari & Mandir Marg.
