Ø High profile Betting Racket in North Delhi posh Location Busted.

Ø    Three Bookies have been arrested from the spot doing betting in India Pakistan ICC Champions Trophy Final Match.
Ø 10 Mobile phones fixed in Briefcase used as Dabba Lines,16 Mobile phones, 3 Laptops,2 LCD's recovered.
 With the arrest of three bookies involved in betting in ICC Champions trophy final match between India & Pakistan arrested by Delhi Police Crime Branch from posh location of North Delhi on the secret information received by ASI Yashpal Singh. 3 persons arrested from Guest House located at Alipur Road Civil Lines of North Delhi.
A team of officers of Crime Branch led by ACP Sanjay Kumar and consisting of Insp Narender Chahar , SIs Gurmeet Singh, SI Narinder Sehrawat, WSI Kavita, ASI's Yashpal Singh, Sanjay Tyagi, Vijay,HCs Rajsingh, Virender, Ravi,  Cts Praveen, Ajay, Sushil, Rahul, and overall supervision of Sh Madhur Verma , DCP/Crime Branch have busted the racket indulged in betting on ICC Champions Trophy India Pakistan Final Match from North Delhi posh Locality and has arrested three bookies including  Rajesh, Nitin Arora , Nitin Grover from a guest house Heritage INN situated at posh locality of Civil Lines North Delhi.
    
Facts of the case:-
A secret information was received at ISC Crime Branch regarding the cricket betting in India Pakistan ICC Champions Trophy Final Match.
On the basis of secret inputs received a trap was laid and three bookies namely Rajesh Kumar S/o Kishan Lal R/o Sabji Mandi Ghanta Ghar Delhi Age 46 Years, Nitin Arora S/o Satish Arora R/o Main Bazaar Sabzi Mandi Delhi Age 38 Years and Nitin Grover S/o Vinod Kumar R/o East Rohtash Nagar Gali No 5 , Shahdra, Delhi Age 28 Years has been arrested. During interrogation they admitted that they are running a book and today sitting for India Pakistan ICC Champions Trophy Final Match at Hotel Heritage Inn situated at 24 Alipur Road Civil Lines Delhi.
On the basis of this secret information received by ASI Yashpal at ISC Crime branch office a case was registered vide FIR No.93/17 dated 19.06.17 u/s 3/4/5 DPG ACT  at P.S. Crime Branch  Delhi in which 10 Mobile phones fixed in Briefcase used as Dabba Lines,16 Mobile phones, 3 Laptops,2 LCD's were also recovered.

Member of the Gang are:-
  1. Rajesh Kumar S/o Kishan Lal R/o Sabji Mandi Ghanta Ghar Delhi Age 46 Years.
  2. Nitin Arora S/o Satish Arora R/o Main Bazaar Sabzi Mandi Delhi Age 38 Years.
  3.  Nitin Grover S/o Vinod Kumar R/o East Rohtash Nagar Gali No 5 , Shahdra, Delhi Age 28 Years
Modus operandi
During the International & Domestic Cricket Matches these people use to run book and receive bets on the mobile phones from people known as "Punters" in betting language and give them rates of the match by "Dabba"( A live Mobile Phone Line which use to transmit Rate of the match and fluctuate from ball to ball) then these people record the bets in the laptops and at the end of the match they use to calculate the total bets , profit and loss incurred by every Punter who use to make bets in the running match. They use to book a room in a hotel or guest house in a posh locality and keep on changing it in every match. Police team has kept a close watch on them that is why they use to book the hotel room rather than sitting at their own residence.

So, for the three bookies have been arrested, the concerned police stations have been informed regarding their arrest. Efforts are being made to arrest the others.

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp. Sanjay Nagpal, Inspr. Prabhat Kumar & Insp. Pankaj Kumar under the supervision of Shri Pankaj Sood, ACP has arrested sharp shooter of notorious and desperate gangster Naveen @ Khati namely  Sagar @ Punter, alongwith his associate Ravi @ Cheeru. Two pistols alongwith 9 cartridges were recovered from their possession.  A Bullet Motor-Cycle used by gangster has also been seized.
